SOURCE: Honda civic esi 1.6 vti i cant satrt

i've found on hondas when the there is a no start problem when the engine spins over fine. when the plugs wear out the cylinders get washed down with gas and it sounds like it has no compression. if this is what its doing put a little bit of oil in each cylinder not too much though then put new plugs iin it, however if there is no spark at the plugs it's probably the distrubutor

SOURCE: 95 honda civic want start

Do you have a no crank issue or a no start/run issue. In other words, when you turn the key does the starter engage or click? I understand the battery was checked, if I may ask, how was it checked?

Check the brake light switch above the brake pedal with a volt meter, when the pedal is pushed you should have 12 volts in and out.

CIVIC EX 1.7 LITER ENGINE 4 CYLINDER/JUST QUIT RUNNING ACTED LIKE OUT OF GAS. MECHANIC SAID WAS ALTERN ATOR I BOUGHT NEW ALTERNATOR AND THEN HE SAID needs fuel pump bought new fuel pump and now says...

I don't know about logical, but it sounds expensive. I do
as much as I can for my 05 Accord, but when I can't
handle a problem, I take it to Honda. Not saying their
mechanics are any better than a local service station,
but most problems are repetitive, and Honda only works
on Hondas and have the proper diagnostic equipment.

I have a 1991 Honda civic and the car will start but it will not

Have you changed the fuel filter? If your battery has power in it it is not the alternator. If the alternator is not charging the engine will become slugish as the battery power nears zero and the light will become dimmer and dimmer until they go out.

I have about 180,000 miles on my 1989 Honda Civic DX. I have done regular maintenance. Last timing belt at 90,000. What should I be doing now? Do I follow regular maintenance suggestions for when the car...

Yes do the same inspection as 100k. I.E. Replace water pump. Load test alternator. Change all fluids, repack wheel bearings and fuel pump.

Find and repair the metal rings tinkling. it could be a safety problem. You will also need a complete safety inspection, to include body and frame.

Congratulations on making it to 180k. BUT you have a 300k car.

NOTE:
I drive a 1984 dodge charger with 160k on it.

Hope this tip helps.
