We own a 1999 Chev. Blazer and the dash board goes crazy. It's lit up with all the check lights coming on, can't tell if you have gas, I was told that on this model there was a recall due to the cat.converter and I'm trying to figure out what to do. Three different mechanics have told me it's electrical.

1.try checking the clearance in the spark plug if you have insufficient or more clearance you wont get spark check this.
2.check the wire coming to the spark plug.if power is not coming to spark plug there wil be discontinuity in the wire try replace it.

the abs light will come on when you turn key on and go off after engine starts (3secs),it will also come on if you brake harder than required,to stop the wheels locking. If it comes on at other times it could be reservoir needs topping up or an abs fault(check it by standing on brake pedal at 30kph(wheels should not lock up until 3/5kph.)read antilock brakes or antiblocking brakes, 2 different systems.
check the parking brake sometimes a slight bump can make that light come on... pull it up then disengage it roll the car back and forth and see if it goes out.. 2nd make a heavy salt and water solution and completely drench the brake calipers with it move vehicle back and forth working brake...then spray off immeaditaly with a hose... this should clean up the abs sensors... if ithe light still stays on it may be a malfuction in the cars obds ( on board diagnosis systems..) unpluge positive termianl from your car let it set off for like 3 mins then put it back and start car see if the light stay on after you take it for a drive... if none if these work take to your dealer ship to replace the abs sensors... it wont be cheap....
You will have to use a 12V test light to make sure you are getting power to the socket. If you are not, check fuses (not likely) then make sure the inside of the socket is clean. A broken wire may also be the problem if not getting power. The test light will help you pinpoint exactly where along the wire you have lost power. I'd check where the wire goes from the liftgate to the cab first to see if you have a pinched wire.
go to auto zone and ask them to check it with OBD 1. also , be very careful about touching any electrical connections in and around airbags (serious injuries can occur). R U the original owner ?? mybe some else disconnected the wires or could be a chop shop special ( as well as other wiring issues) otherwise take it to chev. dealer.
