SOURCE: 2000 mazda bogging in all gears especially in 1st and 2nd gears ?

Judging from what i know, the timing on the engine is probably a bit off, and i remember reading the exact same problem on another web site and that is also what they said. So just check the timing on the engine or have it checked by a mechanic if you don't know how to do it.

SOURCE: 91 mazda protege, grinding lower gears?

More than likely the synchronizers are going out, they allow you to move from gear to gear without damaging transmission.

SOURCE: 95 mazda protege stuck in drive, wont shift gears, shifter moves but can't go in reverse, need help please

Check the shift cable that goes between the shifter and the transmission. If it's damaged internally it will not move properly and the condition you stated will be a symptom. Easiest way to check it is to disconnect the transmission end of cable and see if it moves freely. If not, replace it.

Shifter is in neutral. Why is manual transmission stuck in 3rd gear?

Internal transmission breakage has stuck the thing in 3rd gear. Stalls when putting in other gears because transmission is then being put into 2 gears at once. Better look into getting another transmission of having the current unit overhauled and repaired.

It runs, but wont move

check transmission fluid... if full replace transmission filter (inside transmission) if that fails, then the entire transmission will probably have to be rebuilt or replaced.

1994 Mazda Protege kicks out of 5th gear when driving I can hold it in and it works but when i leave go of the shifter it pops out.

Could be a problem with the linkage between the shifter and the transaxle, or a problem with the fork inside the transaxle.

My 97 Mazda Protege will sometimes **** (as if the throttle is sticking) I will be driving and it will not accelerate, but stay at the same speed, then **** the car and catch up to the speed I'm...

It sounds like your neutral safety switch. Is it auto? If so, when it starts to slip try pulling back on the shifter while it is in drive, don't change gears, just pull back on the shifter. Sometimes it will move the switch just far enough to send the signal that it is in gear. You can try adjusting it by loosening the adjustment bolt and turning it. You have to remove the airbox to get to it, but it is really easy. If that still doesn't do it, then try to replace it. Like $20. You will need a large socket and breaker to get the main nut loose. But then it just slides off.

Changed automatic trans. shift cable now starter wont ingauge to start what chould be the cause.

Look for connector off neutral safety switch, or linkage needs adjustment. Try moving shifter while holding key to start, that should be a good indication if it turns over when in another gear, but be careful and make sure foot is firmly on brake.

You are going to need a transmission shop. Mazdas do not always throw codes. You have an early OBD transmission, which do not send out many codes.
