Question about 1996 Buick Riviera
A 96 is OBDII, you can not pull codes with out a code reader. Up until roughly 94 on some models it was possible to jump 2 pins on the diagnostic port. The check engine light would then blink the codes. You can buy a relatively inexpensive code reader or about $50. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. if the bolt is hitting the frame rail or the motor mount the only thing you can do is put a floor jack under the engine to hole it and take the motor mount out and raise or lower the engine to remove bolt

Depending on your tools and mechanical abilities it shouldn't take more than an hour or so. To do so, drain coolant, remove shroud (plastic cover) remove hoses, trans lines and then you should be able to access 6 screws/bolts holding side braces, then radiator lifts straight out.
