Question about 2002 Mazda Millenia

1 Answer

My 02 Mazda melinia has been sitting for a couple months.... It needs an new alternator so I charged the battery so I could drive it to shop. When I hooked the battery up nothing works on the car except the headlights and they will not turn off unless the battery is disconnected. What could this mean? How do I fix it? Car will not even go into neutral so I can get on trailer. Any suggestions?

Check to see if mice chewed up cables and rats nests or corroded wires. This would cause a ground, and happened in my car before. Check to make sure your PCM is getting constant voltage and enough amps. check your fuses and relays. Change your gas for sure, you probly still have winterblend gas in there.

My alternator for my 2004 Mazda Tribute Wont Charge and My Dash Wont work at all.

it is possible that the after market radio is the problem
unless it is installed correctly it may be draining power from the dash wiring or using that schematics as an earth incorrectly
fitting after market radios in modern cars is not a diy effort as the original radios are now attached to the ECM of the car and fitting the radio incorrectly will cause problems

Battery was dead, tried to boost car with cables, no charge at all, bought new battery next evening the car is completely dead...again, could it be alternator not charging?

You are probably correct on the bad alternator...Did your battery shop test the old battery? As you get your Mazda running again...(limited use with bad alternator) most parts stores can test the alternator output to confirm it is bad...Hope this helps.

I have a '95 Miata M-Edition with 177,000 miles and an automatic transmission. After being stored for a few months, the car wouldn't start. The battery would not hold a charge, so I replaced it. After...

Where was it stored? If corrosion is the issue, battery cables, wiring to alternator, alternator itself, battery terminals, fuse block, anything moisture got to sit on or near for more than a week or so. Miatas hate water in my experience.

My battery keeps dying on my 1992 Mazda MPV. It was fine, now all of the sudden I need a jump to start it, and it will not charge while running, it wants to die while I am driving. What happened? I put in...

The alternator is what charges the battery, most likely there is a bad connection at or to the battery, or the alternator has quit working and you will need to replace the alternator.

2002 mazda protege5 auto battery light coming on

I'm guessing that you've tested the actual current output of the alternator then. I'm assuming that the output is between 13-14Volts at the battery when the car is running... If it's too low, then it's not charging your battery at all, too high, and it's frying your battery.... Another thing that can cause this is if you have a short in your electrical system.. that, however, will be difficult to narrow down...

Battery dosn't charge, alternator/voltage adapter test's good.

Did you test the Alternator on or off the truck? It might be a problem with the control system to the Alternator. The regulator need a battery feed to work, It is usually ran through an alternator fuse.

Battery light on dash is on but car is still going - only got a new battery 4 months ago - car is still driving - Imported 01 Mazda Premacy

The battery light on your dash indicates a charging system failure, that would be the alternator and its wiring. If you are still driving the car and haven't needed a jump start in four months, you probably have a malfunction in the circuit that checks the charging system.
Check your voltage at the battery with the vehicle running and if it is between 13.5-15 volts i wouldn't worry to much about it.
