Probably the static sheild for the wires. Check the wiring diagrams and if there is a dotted box, then that is the static shield, just to protect the sending unit from getting electromagnetic interferance.

No simple diagram for changing the fuel pump. It is located inside the gas tank. The gas tank needs to be removed to change the pump. The pump is part of an assembly which consists of the pump, fuel gauge sender and pick up. You also need to change the fuel filter when you change the pump. It should take a professional mechanic about 3 hours to drain the fuel out of the tank, remove the tank, change the pump and fuel filter. Multiple the mechanic's time by whatever the repair shop charges per hour for labor. There are several different pump assemblies for the vehicle. Price depends on whether it's 2 or 4 doors and 2 or 4 wheel drive. Best guess is about $600 total.

I need to find where the fuel pump is on my 1996 Geo Prizm and how to replace it. My manual doesnt mention it.

The fuel pump is located in the gas tank at the top of the tank. In order to change it you will need to lower the gas tank, remove all fuel lines and electrical lines and then there will be a locking ring holding the pump housing in place. Once you remove that instalation is the opposite.

I need help on removing fuel pump from 2000 cadillac escalade

Tha pump is located in the fuel tank, first you need to remove the hose from the filler neck to the tank then remove the bolts holding the fuel tank in place, do not lower the tank all the way down just enuf to remove the fuel lines with a quick disconnect fuel line tool it has 3 fuel lines to remove and the power plug. Once you have the tank lowerd it has a ring you will have to spin then the pump can be removed. To install reverse these steps. Hope this helps you.
