This is common with a lot of Fords. There will be a connector underneath your passenger seat. Push the ends tightly together as this connector is known to come loose

Code 52 relates to low voltage detected in a capacitor inside the airbag module. 45 seconds after key on, this capacitor should have a voltage of around 23 volts.

This capacitor stores energy to deploy the airbag in the case of a collision.

Because your airbag light is on, your system is deactivated (cannot deploy)

In your case, the airbag computer detects less than 23 volts at that capacitor 45 seconds after key on, and disables the system.

There is a diagnostic procedure involved in fixing this problem, but usually means a bad airbag module (computer)

This should only be checked by a qualified technician, as airbag service can be dangerous and there are strict procedures to follow so the bags don't inflate suddenly and cause injury.

Hi....
On your question, The AIR BAGS will fit. on the screw and the space, because they look the same.
But will Not work. The connectors are a little different.
And the Ressistance is different and 95 and 00.
The Important. On 1998 ford change the Airbag Software, mean the Resistance on the Air bags before 1998 is different that 1998 and UP. Caalled Second Generation AIR BAG System. The Air bag Light will be ON . If you put the 95 on a 00 vehicle.

I would recommend going to strutmasters.com and taking a look at our conversion kits. these convert you from the airbag to a powder coated American made steel coil spring that is guaranteed to last the life of the car. Airbags and compressors are constantly having to be replaced. Also something alot of people don't know is that theses air suspensions are not meant to be in temperatures above 90 Degrees or below 40 Degrees. That is most of the world. The temperature will cause you to replace alot of bags. and typically when your replacing a bag you are going to have to replace the compressor to because the bag had a hole or small crack in it causing the compressor to over work and it will die. The device you used to read the code has the ability to reset codes. But maybe, for your safety the vehicle should be brought to a authorized dealer to make sure airbags are working correctly.

My air bag light on my 2000 Ford Econoline van flashes a 19 code. Does anyone know what that means?


Seems to be a very common problem with Ford. The wiring harness beneath the drivers seat contains the sensors for the airbag system. Go under the drivers seat and secure all the wires and clips. This makes most error lights for the airbags go away. Hope this helps and good luck!

Very well could But, I would check the Wiring Harness Connection, They could have Changed Between Years. The Air Bag itself will fit Though.

1999 ford explorer ( air bag light)


Since my last post, I found a bright yellow connector under the drivers seat. I took the connector off of the end, bent it a little, and put it back on. My air bag light has stayed off. I am going to put some electrical grease on it and see what happens.
