Find out what is missing. Does it have spark? Does it have fuel?
Recheck your work and make sure you have everything plugged in. Connecting a scanner can help a lot with this because if you forgot to plug something in, it will usually set a fault code to tell you which circuit/circuits are not working.

Also, there may not be anything wrong. I have had several where the lifters were collapsed and it did not want to start after doing an intake or cylinder head gasket replacement. When this happens, you just have to keep cranking it for a while to let it build-up some oil pressure to get it started (make sure the battery is fully charged). It will usually make noise (lifters clattering) and run bad for a few minutes after it starts. This should clear up after about five minutes of running.

Blew head gasket and would not start, changed gasket and still wont start

Make the timing belt is installed properly, otherwise all the intake valves will be bent because it is a high interference combustion chamber. Check compression after properly timed. If you are off any teeth at all the head will need to come back off to get repaired.

Car wont start

Head Gasket has nothing to do with changing the oil

If you have a bad head gasket the motor would over heat
& you would be using coolant

Best to go to a local shop & have a talk there
& get your questions answered

When you try to start it, does it sputter, then die out?

We were driving home lastnight and car over heated then died now it wont start. It turns over but wont start. Changed the thermostat. I dont think the fan is kicking on.

Very possible you have a blown head gasket. A compression test on your engine will verify that. When you changed thermostats, was your coolant clean, no traces of oil contamination? Have you checked your oil dipstick? A milky color would indicate water (coolant) in your oil, a sure sign of head gasket failure. Just depends how badly it overheated. But if it wont start, I'd say get a compression test.

Have just put new head gasket in our 4ze1 after blowing a heater hose. motor now hard to start and wont idle but runs well out on the open road. does everything right on the open road - pulls up hills etc...

plug gap 25 th ,too wider gap and it will be hard starting from cold ,as for idle then this could be a vacumn hose perished or not reconnected when head gasket changed ,or a vacumn pipe has been damaged whilst changing the head gasket follow then all back even the best of us inadvertantly damage things or drop a bolt somewhere that always rattles afterwards

We changed the head gasket and put everything to gether now it doesn't want to idle right and stall on me in low idle

Vacuum leakage. Check throttle body mounting bolts, and intake manifold for proper seal. The new head gasket leaking could also cause this problem.
