SOURCE: 1999 dodge durango wont start

may work may not...on older cars when the starter went bad and the car wouldn't start you could tap the starter with a long screwdriver or hammer lightly and the solenoid would engage and start the car but you need to get it home or to shop cause it wouldn't work again..if you try this and the starter engages then the starter needs to be replaced if you haven't already tried..if the lights are flashing when you try to start the vehicle then o would say its prob a malfunctioning alarm system..try to diengage it by pulling fuse for alarm..don't know if you can though..check the starter...good luck

SOURCE: I have a 1999 durango I replaced the ignishion

You'll probably have to take this to the dealer to have it recoded. If you can drive it their great if you can't you probably have to have it towed. Good luck.

Where is a kill switch located on a 2001 Buick century

There is no factory kill switch per say; there is an ignition interrupt in the ECU that is tied into the factory alarm system. So you won't find a physical switch or button that you can access.

Does a 2000 cavalier have a starter kill switch ?

no it shouldn't have a starter kill switch per say, however it does have a passkey security system that effects the fuel pump operation. as far as the starter goes, you should check ALL fuses and check the starter relay for being faulty. If all fuses and the relay checks good then I would go back to the ignition switch. maybe get a test light and check at the starter for 12 volts while someone tries to start the engine.

When you removed the alarm unit you cut the line to the Starter kill switch that was installed. Remove the starter kill switch which is most likely located under the dash spliced into the ignition wiring harness.

1999 Durango 5.9 horn doesn't work from steering wheel but does when setting the factory car alarm. (I assume it's the same horn.)

If it is the same horn, there is probably something in the area where you push to activate the horn. The horn itself is obviously working so there is no fuse problems, most likely your problem is in the steering wheel.

99 durango no power

That clicking sound is most likely a relay. You can test the relay with a multimeter or ohm meter to see if it is defective. Hope this helped.

Mine has done this and i as well do not have a working remote. To disengage it just put the key in the driver door lock and turn for 2-3 seconds and it will disengage. i didn't even know mine had an alarm until coming out of work one night and it went off and i could not get it to turn off unless i went to "unlock" the door and hold it there for a few seconds.
