Car cranks but wont start? No spark. Changed ecm relay no help. Ignition harness is good. No fault codes. Battery is good. changed ignition relay, no help. I think its the ECM but need more info to spend...

Yes, the ECM is the last thing to replace after all other possibilities. No spark could be bad ignition coil, bad Ignition Control Module (controls the coil circuits for spark), bad plug wires, the crank and cam sensors (for ECM to determine spark timing).

Check the ICM -it can be tested at a parts store. If good, check the crank sensor.

How do I fix my van when its not firing?

Cranks but won't start? Replacing the plugs won't be the fix most likely. You are probably looking at the components that control spark. Make sure that everything is dry ( condensation is a huge factor for things like this )

If you are having this problem AFTER replacing the plugs, then you are going to want to make doubly sure that you put the wires in the proper places. Don't crank the engine over like this very long, or you will dump raw fuel into the catalytic converter and could ruin it, which will cost you more than you'd probably want to sink into that van.

1995 caprice classic 5.7liter and it want crank no more after I replace the spark plugs and wires and icm why is that?

The spark plugs and wires have nothing to do with cranking the engine. Make sure your battery is charged up and all the connections are clean. Get someone to give you a boost if necessary. If you still get nothing you may need a new starter , or possibly ignition switch. If nothing happens when you get a boost your'e probably better to let a mechanic handle it.

What does acam or crankshaft sensor do

  • The crankshaft position sensor identifies position of the crankshaft to the ignition control module (ICM), engine control module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM)
  • When not replaced, vehicle could experience no- or hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, excessive hydrocarbons in oil, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy, CEL/MIL illumination or intermittent shutdown.
  • The camshaft position sensor identifies position of the camshaft to the ignition control module (ICM), engine control module (ECM) or powertrain control module (PCM)
  • When not replaced, vehicle could experience no- or hard start, long crank time, misfire, lack of power, excessive hydrocarbons in oil, spark plug fouling, catalytic converter failure, poor fuel economy, CEL/MIL illumination or intermittent shutdown

no spark you cover everthing. has to be a loose or no contact connection somewhere, you covered it all.you might want to tap on the ecm., or check the fuse for power to junction the ones in the hood area those can blow and not give power to ignition system
