SOURCE: High pitched whinning sound at cold start, but lessens after driving and outside air temp increases.

I would check the idler pulleys on the belt first. Then maybe the alternator. If your battery is getting a little weak it could be working the alternator hard when you first start it up. I don't know how loud it is though. The alternator wouldn't be real noticeable but some people would hear it.

SOURCE: Headlights don't turn off during the day.

There is a photocell sensor on the top of the dashboard. Is it possibly covered with a map etc. This would fool the system to thinki ts dark outside. If not,the twilight sentinel amplifier and photocell will require diagnosis. Hope this helps

SOURCE: I find that my 2006

92 octane is wise to use once a month if you drive 1500 miles or more a month. Although I would use a half a tank of 92 octane when doing so. That blend has more additives which is great for larger engines such as a large V8

Have 2001 buick regal that's making wninning noise when you crank up and also while driving

check the power steering fluid level first if it's low add. If it still does it have someone turn the wheel from full left to full right and see if it gets louder. If all of this does not change the sound then have your transmission checked out. Both of the pumps "whine" when they need attention.

Whinning noise when engine is off

Whinning Causes
The whining noise you hear coming from the power steering pump is one of three things. The first is more of a loud "hush" than a whine; this is the sound of fluid rushing through the bypass valve when you turn the wheel all the way to one side or the other. Sometimes the bypass valve malfunctions or doesn't open all the way, causing pressure to back up in the pump and cause your engine rpm to drop. The second and third causes result from cavitation -- vacuum pockets created behind the rotor's vane blades as a result of extremely high pump action -- or air in the lines.

Makes a loud steering noise in rear of car when makes a sharp hard turn to the left, what could this be?

Sounds like a right wheel bearing. You should be able to jack up the right side and do one of two things. Shake the wheel and see if the bearing is sloppy or rotate the wheel by habd and see if you can hear the bearing making noise. They are pretty common on these vehicles.

My 2003 Buick Regal makes a load whinning sound when I turn. WHat could be causing this?

Hi, it could be a wheel bearing. if you turn left and you hear it it will be your right front bearing and visa-versa. could be the power steering belt that needs replacing, good luck with it.

My steering column is make loud squeking noises.

The rubber "boot" at the firewall is chafing on the steering shaft. Spray shaft with silicone lube, then turn the steering wheel back & forth to work lube in. May require occasional re application.
