Question about Cars & Trucks

1 Answer

A hatchback has no working lights (left, right and top-middle). What could be the problem?

I have checked the bulbs, fuse and the brake switch, but all are in working condition. My front, back and park lights work fine aswell. My multimeter is slightly broken, but seems to measure electricty flow from the wires to the brake switch. The only thing I can think of is that I should just replace the switch anyway, incase what I think is normal is really broken.

Yes the brake light switch operated when close to the brake light switch. If you replace it and it doesnt remedy you need to check the pigtail of the lamp and see if power is there whe the brake switch is in the closed position(stepping on the brake pedal) If you are equipt with a brake light module failure you will need to bypass this module

2004 Land Rover Freelander SE, left and right brake lights not working, top middle one does. replaced the bulbs and checked the F2 fuse and still no left or right brake light.

I think you should check the connections in the wiring loom at the back of the lights to find out how far along the cables you have power, the problem is obviously close to the rear lights if the hi viz stop light is working. Hope this helps. Cheers

What could be wrong with my brake lights top middle works offside and nearside dont work checked fuse and bulbs

Most models have the brake light power go thru the turn signal switch for the left and right sides. You may need to have someone check voltage output for the turn signal switch.

1 brake light doesn't work... good bulb and fuse

Lights are usually on a dual circuit! Left and right have separate fuses, check all fuses or check the fuse diagram on fuse cover or manual to identify correct fuse!

2004 trailblazer left and right brake lights are not working but the third brake light in the middle is. What could be the problem?

Could be a bad ground in the brake wiring. If you make a ground from the socket to the frame or body, see if the lights work.
