95 Sonoma 4whee drivel switch won't work

Low, high flash at the same time.you can hear the transfer case switching but you have to play around with the buttons a bit, don't know if it is in low or high with out road test. Have the electronic actuator switch in the right side outer panel out and wonder if this could be the problem.

SOURCE: 1995 gmc jimmy 4wd high not working

sounds like it is loosing vacuum check all the lines for a crack even the engine lines will cause it to loose vacc. pressure. if it is not run to the vacuum reserve canister you may not have enough vacc. to hold the actuator in several times I just run new lines and that helped and not very costly.

Check the switch on the transfercase remove the vacume lines if there is oil in them the switch has to be replaced and the lines should be cleaned out you should also check under the battery tray to make sure the boot is not ripped that controls the leaver to engage the front axel

SOURCE: Actuator switch or Transfer Case

The acuator switch is soo easy to replace for about 15-20$ just replace that first, also if its the acuator switch the light down at the shift bow will NOT light up. If it were your t-case normally it would light up but nothing would happen

What type of vehicle is this? I'm assuming you have a part time transfer case with the 4h,4l and 2h selector switch.
Without knowing the vehicle I can't be certain, but the problem you are describing sounds like the Encoder Motor on your transfer case has gone bad.
Can you hear any noise when you try to select a gear range?

4x4 will not engage

this may assist you engage in 4x4 and reverse for a few meters, normally this does the trick on the transfer case if not then either the electrics/switch to the transfer case is not not functioning or the transfer case itself.

94 Sonoma 4x4 won;t lock into 4WD.

yea its not shifting again like before ? sounds like your transfer case solonoid has possably gone bad again .. these are a sometimes dont work item .. It is what shifts the transfer case into gear and it might be a little worn or weathered and not letting the switch kick it in gear all the way from the N position. thanks Jerry holler if you need more.

1998 gmc sonoma push button 4x4 busting diaphram vacuum actuator

On top of the transfer case is a vacuum switch with 3 vacuum lines connected to it. This switch controls when vacuum is applied to the vacuum actuator. This switch can fail partly and allow fluid from the transfer case to be sucked up into the vacuum lines and anything connected to them as well. When you replaced the actuator before, did you notice any oily fluid inside of it?
