SOURCE: ford explorer 1997 xlt, the inside door handle does not work

I had the same problem and I finally found the solution after taking the panels from the inside of the door. Ford makes these vehicles with plastic clips to hold the bar that releases the latch and after so much repetitive usage of them they break. so most likely you will need to go to a ford dealership to get these clips which are stupidly priced at $3.00 a piece. All you need to do is take out the old pieces and put in the new and they'll most likely last you for another 10 yrs. but that's not a guaranteed fix from Ford.

Your transmission should be in neutral when shift from 4x4 low to high. Also the brake needs to be depressed. If you have done that I would say it is a solenoid in the transfer case or the relay that drives the transfer case solenoid.

SOURCE: well I wont to no

I do not recall the engine size that you have but let me list down the compatible transmission for both the 4 and the 5L variants.
4R55E or 5R55E for the 4L V6 engine 4R70W for the 5L V Engine.
There is an option for the manual transmission for the 4L V6 which is the M5OD-R1.

SOURCE: 1997 Ford Explorer Power Seat Wiring

There are several options. It all depends on how bad you want the leather seats. You could disassemble the seats and transfer the upholstery from one seat to the other, or you could transfer the motor mechanisms from one seat to the other. The leather seats are most likely equipped with seat heater elements...there is no way you are going to get them to work without redesigning half of the vehicle, so you can either leave the heating elements out when you transfer the upholstery or just leave their respective connectors disconnected.

My explorer is stuck in low 4x4

Hello, if you have the push button on the dash you may try putting it in reverse and backing up about 40 feet. That will usually do the trick.
Good luck my friend!

I have a 98 Ford Explorer 4x4 that is locked in 4x4 high mode, I have replaced Transfer Case Motor this did not help, what else could it be?????

Sometimes the electric hubs are corroded and once they are engaged they don't release.
Another possibility (and I have never disassembled one) is the button you push to activate the 4x4 is stuck.
You might try to look in your owners manual for a fuse to the 4x4 unit. If you pull the fuse a stuck button would not matter.

My ford explorer wont go into 4 x 4 had the transmission changed last year ??1998 2 door . different trans for the 4 door ??

No same trans. Likely has a stuck transfer case motor. try tapping it with a rubber mallet when someone tries to shift it into 4x4
