SOURCE: 2003 Jaguar S-Type, programming a key fob

If its a new key fob the only way you can program it is this the factory scan tool, u'll have to take it to a dealership for them to do this and they will charge you .5 hrs for labor.only x-types can be programmed without the jaguar software. Im guessing it will cost you between 40 and 50 bucks to have them program it.

You must charge the battery or you can use jumper cables from another battery to your battery to activate the electric trunk release, just be sure you hook up the jumper cables correctly ( cable to + on the battery and black to _ terminal of battery)and wear safety glasses when hooking up cables this should release the trunk. Also as a precaution always hook up + or red jumper cables wires first to prevent a arcing spark which is not terribly dangerous but this order in which to connect jumper cables is recommended.

How do you replace ign lock cylinder on a 2003 jaguar x type if the key wont go in the cylinder

You may have to resort to the dealer or a locksmith authorized to work on Jags. Removal of the ignition cylinder requires the use of the key to enable you to rotate the cylinder for removal from the housing. This is a safety/ anti theft feature built into the design.

Why does my 2003 jaguar s type keeps overheating after I replaced the thermostat. I took i to the dealer and they told me everything checked out ok but told me to replace thermostat.

These cars are terrible for holding air pockets once the cooling system has been drained.
Run the heater on max and let the car cool, top off the coolant, and repeat the process several times. Also make sure the electric fan assy is functioning. There is a module on the side of the fan assy which occasionally fails. if the fan is working then you probably have air pockets in the cooling system.

How to replace 2003 xj8 thermostat, car is over heating and fan runs when turned off

=thermostats are easy fixes, just locate your upper radiator hose and where it enters the engine. three should be a thermostat housing at the end of the hose and it will be bolted to the engine. Remove this housing and replace with correct thermostat and gasket and tighten housing to the proper torque specs. You will need to use care when removing the bolts as it appears to have some clerance problems on some of the housing bolts as it is bolted to composite plastic material and is easily damaged. here is link. I would not over tighten the bolts again because of the material.

After driving my 2003 jaguar x type for a while, temperture guage goes to hot and diplay says engine is overheating. i stop, turn car off and recrank, temperture is fine until i drive for a while then...

Thermostat will need to be replaced. I recommend draining a quart of anitfreeze by loosening the petcock on bottom of radiator. Then re-tightening. Then follow upper radiator hose, it will lead right to thermostat housing. It should have about 3 screws/bolts on it to remove. The thermostat is underneath.

The top radiator hose should connect to the thermostat housing, bolted onto your engine. Make sure you get a new gasket.
Hope this helps... Good luck!
