The ABS light came on and stays. I thought may be it needed brake fluid, so I filled it up. However, the ABS light is still. What might be the problem?

You may have a bad abs controller. You need to get the code for the abs light from a shop or auto parts store.

Obviously a time for a brake checkover, but if the weather there is snowy & slushy, then perhaps a trip to a carwash & spraying as best as you can behind the wheels, may clean out some debris that may be making one or more of your sensors trip. Not too sure how experienced you are at these type of repairs, as I suspect one or more of your ABS sensors is dirty or faulty, it may be wise to have them checked for safety sake. Be aware that when light is on,ABS may not work, and could allow one or more wheels to lock up when hitting brakes hard in an emergency stop like situation.

have to pull the codes on each system to find problem but the other shop should look at it again if they just worked on it

sounds like you have a faulty ignition switch..have seen this before
