SOURCE: how to replace a bmw rear parking sensor

put car into reverse with ignition on (not running) and either listen very closely or feel each sensor with your finger tips, you should hear a clicking noise or feel a ticking on the good sensors. once you have determined the faulty one simply release the two plastic retaining clips and push the sensor through the bumper inwards, then remove plug and fit new sensor

How to on BMW very easy recognize where it is a demaged sensor, if Your PDC...

First step activate the PDC system in operation mode!
It says that there is an obstacle, and she is not!
Easily recognize when your finger simply attach on the center sensor, he is well visable and there is a 4x pieces in the rear bumper and in front bumper when is.
Touch your finger on the sensor when easily pulsed, can feel You this or you can hear the faint pulsation. When not pulsed is defective and pernamently says is a obstacle here!!! And your PDC system is in failure!!! This sensor must be a changes!!!!

Save Your money and way in the repair where you pay money to not that the car is repaired, but only that tells you what is wrong and will need to replace

You go try it in your BMW with the PDC, it works!

How do I fix "Park aid data error"

In many cases when you accidentally do this the codes set in the module that controls this will need to be cleared before the system will start working again. This can be done with a high end scan tool (anything that costs at least $1,500 or more. A code read will not be able to do this.

I just ran into a simular problem replacing the oil cooler on a BMW M5. I started the car before putting the front bumper back on to check for leaks. The front sensors where not plugged in and the park assist was disabled. I had to clear the codes in the park assist module to get it working again.

My 1999 bmw 323i airconditioning goes between cold and war and was just serviced. plus the sensor on the panel says -40

The reason for a/c to go cold/warm after service is low on freon or overcharged , or it has a leak.(Sorry don't know the reason of service on your car for a/c system)
Temp. on panel -40 , ambient temp. sensor broken or wire cut off ,
very common , because it seats under bumper and can be easy tear off by curb on parking lot.

Why has the parking sensors on my bmw stopped working

There is few options.First-reverse switch not working. How to check-switch ign. ON,select Reverse and check reverse lights at back.If not-change switch. If O.K. go to step two: Disconect reverse sensors next to a bumper and check for resistance/any one/,because all sensors are conected in serie. If there is not resistance check all sensors one by one to find a wrong one.And last one-check "beep" speaker

2005 Lincoln Navigator. Message says to Check

Most likely the problem you are experiencing with the park assist is a fault in one of the sensors mounted in the rear bumper. I would not consider it to be a major fix, however there will be a few hours labor involved as the bumper cover needs to be removed to replace the sensors.
