Question about 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland

Open Question

My 2007 jeep grand cherokee says transmission over temp in vehicle display, what issues can this be?

Dealer says its the starter, and I think they just want the $$$. All the lights are lit, but there is no cranking, clicking, or anything. It just sits there. I've read some of what was previously posted, is this really a relay wire, or an ignition key, or antitheft system? Should the dealer check this other stuff first? What are the odds I get a new starter, and the problem persists?

SOURCE: 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee won't CRANK - battery is fine.

What is the current status? I purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee from CarMax in December, 2009. The first time it wouldn't start was the beginning of March. The dealership could not duplicate the issue. Happened again a month later, they said it was the wireless remote module and that was replaced. Couple months later, happened again. They said it was the key module. That was replaced. Friday night, happened again. I'm waiting for a tow truck Monday morning. Does anyone know the real underlying issue and the resolution?

2007 Jeep Cherokee Transmission over temp displaying and will not start after sitting for several hours it will start? Any Ideas

I had same prob - no rhyme nor reason as to when, where or why it wouldn't start. After two new starters the shop finally found a starter wire/cable that was corroded on the inside. Mech' could move it back and forth and it would / would not start. Changed cable six months ago - no problems since. Hope it helps.

Try your other key. i just looked up the code on a chrysler site and it lists it as a key imobilizer error. You may have to bring the keys to a dealer to get them reprogrammed.

2007 Cherokee will not start. Lights work, radio

Problems could be the starter, you could switch the transmission to try to put the transmission in neutral and see if it gives start and also problems with the immobilizer or the starter relay you can remove and make a direct connection and are sure is not the starter. thanks

My man I know your pain... I have the exact same problem happening to me now... same make, year and model... But I think the other suggestion is also quite valid so I going to have my friend do both...
