The ball joints on both 2wd and 4wd upper are pressed in you need to remove snap ring and using a hammer pop out the old one out this is after you seperate the upper arm from the spindle. To install the new ball joint you should use a ball joint press that you can rent at most autoparts shops

I got a 2008 trailblazer can I fit 265/65r17 on it with no rubing

That's cuttin' it close, I run 255 65 r17 just enough room maybe 1/4" til' it rubs the ball joint. You may be able to get away with shaving the ball joint down some to fit those.

I am looking for a service manual for my 2006 Trailblazer. About to swap out an upper ball joint and would like to see the manual before starting. Could you point me in the right direction

GM distributes those through Helminc.com There about $135. I believe the book # would be GMT06STNS. Otherwise, there's always Chilton, which are about $20 but isn't as discriptive.

Had new lower ball joints installed and front end aligned on 02 Trailblazer 2wd. Steering is stiff now and wheel will not self center. What could be problem?

often I find on these vehicles a cheap "new" ball joint will bind

additionally, if the tech did not torque the ball joints to spec this too will cause a bind

both will cause stiff steering and no return

take it back to where the work was done and have them fix it CORRECTLY!
