Question about 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier
I tried to back out the other day and put the car in reverse. For some reason it did not. Eventually it started to reverse. Please tell me this is not a major issue. I am a student and can't afford to get it fixed. It recently started doing this.. Now when it's in drive it feels jerky a little bit.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Try spraying silicone lube (generously) down the felt tracks on either end, as well as up sides, and see if that helps. Work window up & down.

Check for vacuum leaks. Spray some carb cleaner or WD40 around the intake manifold, trottle body and any vacuum lines. Check for loose connections on engine wiring harness (Maybe you disconnected a sensor, and forgot to re-attach it?).
