SOURCE: WHERE IS THE FUEL PUMP
Posted on Jul 22, 2011
If your fuel filter was replaced, need to check fuel pressure, check fuel tank with dirty residual (clean up) or fuel pump go to bad.
We need to know first what we're missing, fuel or spark! We need to have a strong blue spark at the plugs when cranking the engine. If that's okay, then we need to test the fuel pressure and volume with a gauge.
If the check engine lamp is illuminating, the correct step to take is have the diagnostic codes read, it may reveal to the cause of the fault or point in the direction of the failure. If you have an AutoZone parts store in the area they can pull the codes with an OBD II code reader, at no charge; or even rent a code reader to you. Otherwise, most independant repair facilities will charge a nominal fee to pull the codes. If you can post those codes here I can give the most probable causes.
Keep us updated.
