SOURCE: Where is the oil filter located on a 2002

The oil drain plug and oil filter are under the engine skid plate. You need to remove the trap door to see. The skid plate door is located by the drivers side door, directly midway underneath the vehicle. You will need a flat or Phillips-hear srewdriver to open the trap door. Don't worry, the screws are 'loss-proof' and will not fall off the trap door plate. Once this has been removed, the oil drain plug and oil filter are now visible and accessable (how smart is that!) Typical oil change and oil filter replacement time = 15-20 mins

curb weight 4dr. 4X2 4,200lb... 4X4 is 4,600lbs
rhino ramps come either 8,000lbs or 12,000lbs so either or are good... but with any ramps you use BE CAREFULL

SOURCE: where is the oil filter on a 2002 chevy

If you have the 4.2 liter: looking up from underneath the vehicle you will find an oil filter access door on the passanger side of the skidplate. Take a flat head screwdriver and turn the screws allowing the door to pivot out of the way. Look up through the access door and you will see the oil filter. A 5.3 liter oil filter will be beside the oil pan.

Check the opening around the oil filter outlet and make sure that there is no gasket still on the housing. Fram filters are famous for its gasket coming off and sticking to the surface of the inlet. When you tighten the new filter it crimps the new gasket and leaks all the oil out. I have had this happen to me twice. No more Fram filters for me. Buy PUROLATER. Hope this helps

Buy PUROLATER they seem to be the best and they don't cost much more. Hope this helps

Nothing to do with filters or brand of oil this just a brown stuff from bulls story ,without hearing your engine i would assume that its the hydraulic tappets and all you need to do is to add a nice can of STP to the engine oil ,This will stop it and then change oil every 6000 miles and a oil oil filter every third oil change ,use the cheapest oil you can buy prefferably a diesel /petrol type natural or synthetic it doesnt matter and then a can of STP .So whats the problem ??

Have never serviced a Mazda atenza before and have bough the oil filter, not to sure where it goes?

While Frank I would put the car on ramps and get under the car, Oil filters are locate under the car you really have to look it could be any color do to the company who made it fram is orange, stp blue, and some white. Once you find it be sure to put new oil on rim of new filter before install on the o-ring of new filter.

What type of oil and oil filter does it require

5w30. You could also use 10w30 which is a thicker oil. The filter you have may choices. Brand and quality. Like Fram, STP, Mobil, etc.. example Fram number PH16 which is for both the 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Same with oil, you can get regular, semi-synthetic, full synthetic. Your choice. Usually higher price, better quality.

There is a plate underneath the engine that is held in by 2 flat head screws. All you have to do is loosen both screws and slide the plate around. The plate just slides around. The drain plug and oil filter are then exposed and easily accessable. The 2004 Trailblazer takes 7 quarts of oil and uses an ACDelco PF61 or Fram PH3675 oil filter. I've read in this FAQ site some info about other filters, so I went down to the local Chevy dealer and talked to a mechanic. He told me the ACDelco PF61 was the correct filter. The Fram PH3675 is the exact same as the PF61.
