Question about Audi A4

Put K&N cold air intake in audi its not cranking over now?

I installed a K&N cold air intake it ran great before i installed it after everything was stuck in its not turning over it trys to start you can smell gas after trying to start. I dont know if it could be my plugs what should i do?

Make sure everything that was plugged up to the stock air cleaner and box ansd make sure everything is plugged up properly

sounds like the ignition module. Change that and see what happens. Is this by any chance on a 3800 or otherwise called a 3.8? if so try to push in the left side of the harness where it plugs in to the module just in front of the coil packs. while you are pushing have someone crank the car. if it starts and you let go and it dies then you know that is your problem.

Audi a4 1.8 can't start after top was overhauled is making a weird sound like backfiring the engine dont even move please help camshaft marks was done as well as pulleys and the pistons was also put on...


Back fire is only caused by intake valve being open when a spark plug fires on a cold engine.
Recheck timing marks of cams where the drive sprocket notch of each cam shaft aligns with the cam cap mark at the rear of the head.

It has been known for the crank sprocket to come loose on the crank nose and timing will be off if this is so.

Sounds like my 2002 nissan pathfinder is bogging down when i gas it , it runs fine but gets crappy gas miledge


needs a tuneup, definately change fuel & air filters, replace spark plugs & wires, distributor cap / rotor, change oil & filter, it would'nt hurt to replace cat conv., it restricts exhaust flow, between you & me , take it off, put a straight pipe in its place, is your inspection up to date ? you'll have a year to replace your CAT, before next inspection. just remember that. nissans this year usually need to have the timing belt replaced, nissan charges $900 + to do it. BIG DIFFERANCE ! see how it runs after tuneup, also , you may end up replacing both the cam & crank sensors down the road. I would replace the OXYGEN sensor/s as part of tuneup, it will help a great deal.

Code Reader or Scan Tool- used?

Need two keys programmed-- for it to start

Do you have injector pulse while cranking,if so
you should have spark & the crank sensor is good

Fuel Pressure 48 to 52# ?

V6 or V8

Need MAF hooked up & no vacuum leaks

My 1991 Audi 80 will not start, engine cranks


Sounds to me like you may have left the air temp sensor or something electronic disconnected - Distributor - MAF sensor - go back and check and make sure that there's not an electrical pigtail somewhere hanging off - a vacuum leak wouldn't keep it from starting unless it were major - and your AUDI is mechanical injection I think - so fuel pull isn't a problem - check those connectors - let me know??? Thanks

Check the fuel filter, you may have clogged it when you filled the tank.

Is a airflow meter for v6 1993 camry needed? I am trying to put an cold air intake, but im not sure if i can remove the airflow meter or not. also any help on intalling a cold air intake on the car would...


You MUST have the air flow meter installed on your vehicle. The car will not run if you remove it. The Air Flow Meter measures the amount of air coming into the engine, and also the air temperature. This information is sent to the fuel injection computer, to determine the proper fuel to be injected. In reality, cars with "air-flow meters" do not really "benefit" from a cold air intake, due to the inherent restriction that the air flow meter causes, as it measures the air.
In short, I would not install the intake, you won't see much benefit. The graciousness of a FixYa rating for my assistance would be greatly appreciated..
