My 2003 GMC Envoy SLT has a factory towing package. When I hook up my trailer the left turn signal does not work. The tail light works fine. I inserted a test light to the female plug-in and the left turn signal indicator light does not blink. I put in a new fuse - no help.

Re: left turn signal on trailer
Ok tdknutson, I'm not clear on this, does the truck left turn signal stop working when u plug the trailer in, or is it the trailer left turn signal that's not working, or both? When u plugged in the test light did it show u had power to that plug in? Let me know the answer to the above, and in the meantime, check the ground on the turn signal at the trailer. Make sure it's not loose, and tightly connected to the frame (or wire). Also, what type plug in do u have? 4, 6, 7 wire?

is trailer lite fixture grounded good try and wiggle fixture when u hit signal. next try wiggle pig tail on trailer , still no signal. it must be wire from truck, trace back to connection and check all splices. to see if signal light works on trailer unhook pigtail and get a battery charger or another battery, connect a jumper from positive side to signal spot on trailer hook up. hook up ground as well see if light works if not its in the truck for sure.
Well let me shed some light on this issue. I have the same problem. Trailer connection from truck does not have power to left turn signal and left brake light. I just got back from the dealership and $100.00 labor charge. My problem is the TIPM (Fuse Box for short) and FCM (little silver module hooked to the Fuse Box on the left hand side of the fuse box). $910.00 for the parts and Chrysler doesn't have any in stock. 4-6 weeks to maybe fill a back order. I am currently researching an alternative way to fix this issue. I will let you know.
I take it the blinkers and brake lights work ok when not hooked up to the trailer? If yes, then the wiring to the tow hitch is not hooked up correctly. How many wires to trailer pig tail connection? U can have up to 7 depending on what you tow. Check to make sure these wires are hooked up from the truck to tow plug correctly: 7 wired--- brown-Rt turn and brake light, yellow-backup, white-ground, blue-electric brake, green-tail running lights, black-battery charger, red-left turn signal and brake light. Let me know if u have something other than 7 wire, I'll get the wiring color and source info for u.
