SOURCE: i need to replace the

The Manifold Absolute Pressure sensor is located on top of the cylinder head, right side, about 2/3 of the way back. there is one screw holding it in. You will need to take off the plastic engine cover off to access it. The sensor in the airbox is the MAF sensor.

OMG. I replaced the battery in my 06 G6 and had the same problem. the windows would not roll up or down how they did before. I read the answers on here and it does work. Hold up the window switch for ten seconds and it resets. You will have to do it to each window. Worked great. Thanks

Where are the camshaft actuator valves located on a 2006 Pontiac G6 GTP 3.9L V6

I believe you are thinking of the wrong kind of valve. You do not have solenoid valves, you have mechanical valves that open and close off of the lobes of the camshaft.

I have a 2006 G6 GTP,, occasionally the traction control light comes on and the car shifts hard, please help

There are many reasons for the light to come on example: tire pressure not same in all tires, tires of diffrent size, ABS sensor wire loose or cracked. The best thing is to retrive the code which will tell you exactely what and which VSS vehicle speed sensor is failing.

I have a 06 G6 GTP 3.9 The motor was recently taken out&put in and now the back three cylinders are not hittin the coil is firing and the plugs and wires are and all the grounds and sensors are pluged...

It would probably help us a little if the sentence structure of your question were written better and clearer. I know nobody is perfect, but it's far from that. there are three coils back there... describe 'not hitting'

I have a 1997 Pontiac gtp with a code P0171. The light on the dash sometimes is on and sometimes it goes off on its own but more often is on.

That means that cylinder number 1 is running too lean.

There are number of causes of this that need be checked out one at a time. Allowing a lean condition can very easily damage your motor, most likely a burned valve first.

First and foremost...never run regular fuel in your GTP. 91 octane minimum. Going lower won't necessarily cause the condition it's in now but it does pre-detonate, causing damage and robbing horsepower.

Anyways...disconnect your MAP sensor. Then drive the car it for a few on/off cycles, to operating temperature and if the code is cleared immediately before driving and doesn't return then you likely need a new MAP sensor.

Second...if disconnecting the MAP sensor does not clear the code, consider the gasoline brand and it's age. Having water in it can cause the lean condition. In this case I recommend an additive for your GTP fuel...first, add the highest octane at the pump that you can then add a can of some stuff called B-12 by Chemtool.

Also inspect the connectors and wiring harness to your MAP and oxygen sensors.

After you have located and solved the culprit, change your spark plugs. I recommend copper core Autolite 605 gapped to .055-.057 for a factory stock GTP.
