Question about 2011 Buick Enclave

Open Question

2010 Buick Enclave HVAC fan won't redirect from upper vents to lower vents or defrost vent.

Whether on auto control or manual, the fan will only blow air out through upper vents. This is not related to the thermostat as both heat and AC operate according to the inside temperture in the vehicle.

SOURCE: Air conditioner/heater blower fan on 1997 Buick

it will be hard to diagnose with out having my hands on it but try this.

this vehicle is known for blower motor resistor failure.

under the dash on the passenger side next to the blower motor there is a resistor attatched to the blower motor case it will have a single plug with 5 or 6 wires in it, they are normally within a couple of inches of the blower motor, remove this resistor and look at closely for any signs of burning this is a common problem, you can buy one at any parts house, do not operate the motor with the resistor removed from its mounting hole or you will damage it.

if the resistor looks good than purchase you a test light and drop me a line and i will explain how to test the entire system its not hard to do.

SOURCE: Location of batter 2010 Enclave

You will probably find the battery under the hood on the left or right in this vehicle and the fuses box under the left hand side dash by the driver. But it may be on the right hand side under the dash too. Easy to find either way. Hope this helps and you have a kind heart to give me a good thumbs up, Raz

Did you preform recalibration after replacement ? See if this works ,if not you'll need to take it to the dealer an have it done with factory scan tool .
Alternate Method (w/o Scan Tool)
  1. Clear all DTCs.
  2. Place the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  3. Install the HVAC actuator.
  4. Connect all previously disconnected components.
  5. Remove the HVAC/ECAS fuse for a minimum of 10 seconds.

I recharged the a/c unit on my 2010 Buick Enclave and now my vents are stuck in one setting they don't switch from feet to face to defrost. What do I do?

Turn the switch and listen for the motor that drives the little diverts in the a/c system.. check your a/c fuses and see if that is not the problem. 2010 GM vehicles are sensitive to any abnormal inputs from sensors. Are you sure you didn't overcharge the system? Is the compressor working and the output hose from the compressor cold? The sensors could be responding to an overcharge and locking out the circuit controlling various aspects of the ac system.

99 Buick LeSabre A/C control problem

That may be tough to fix. My first thought is the control panel, but it could be the hvac programmer or even the body computer.
Do you have controls on the steering wheel, and can you change temp from there ?
Its probably going to take a shop that deals with electronics and a shop manual to get all of the diagrams.
You could switch out the control on the dash with a used part as a test.

If the air does not blow out of the defrost vents, check the control and the vent door actuators for a vac leak.

My ac and heater are stuck in defrost and i cant figure out why i turn the dial to vents and heat but it stays in defrost

It all depends on whether your truck is equipped with Automatic Climate Control or Manual HVAC. You could have a broken control head assembly a broken mode door cable, a failed electronic mode door actuator, a broken mode door, or a loose or broken wire or connector.

To put it simply, your mode doors are not swithching modes - the reason for this can vary depending on which system you have.

I have 2001 Buick Regal where when the heater/ac is turned on you can hear the fan work but the vent won't open and close.

When you say that the "vent won't open and close" do you mean that the mode control is stuck on defrost - no matter which position you put the switch in? If this is the case, you most likely have a broken vacuum line in your engine compartment. You will find a plastic vacuum line going through your firewall. This line connects to the intake manifold on your engine. I can't tell you exactly where, because the service manual doesn't actually say and also you forgot to mention which engine you have. You will find it if you look for it. The plastic line is most likely broken. This can be fixed by using a small piece of rubber vacuum tubing to "splice" the line back together.

2006 slt gmc envoy ac problems vent controls anbd

{: ) The popping sound you heard is caused by the sudden movement of an HVAC door, most probably coming from the recirculation door actuator (right dashboard area) or the mode actuator( mid dashboard area). The fan outputs could be normally working, but is being muffled by the incorrect positioning of the HVAC doors, giving an impression that there is fault in the blower controls. In other words, your vehicle is having an air distribution issue.
If there's no conflict in your climate settings, then the trouble may be in the HVAC doors binding or broken, or the actuators faulty or sticking. In both cases, servicing may involve removal of the dashboard to access these HVAC components.

Does this have auto temp control where you set the temp number or does it have a knob you set 1-5. I'll bet you have auto temp. and you need to replace the blower control module under the hood.

Blower motor vent selection switch not working

the hvac selector switch in the dash may be the problem. You need to remove the switch and look at the connector on the back of switch, see if there are any burnt wires at the connector or switch. It's all electronic and the switches have been known to burn out on this and other model.
