Question about Ford Explorer
Have had it at the garage several times. they can not find any vacum leaks. This problem started after they replaced my valve cover gaskets. I have replaced the IAC and they replaced the intake manifold gaskets still getting the code after they say it is fixed please help

THIS IS VERY COMMEN IN FACT JUST ABOUT EVERY SINGLE 3.1AND 3.4 AND 3.8 EVER MADE BY CHEVY LEAKS AT THE LOWER INTAKE ALL OF THEM AND USEALLY STARTS AT ABOUT 50000 MILES THE PARTS COST ABOUT 300.00 AT THE DEALER FOR NEW GASKETS AND COOLENT AND SEALENT ALL THE PARTS YOU WILL NEED THE PROBLEM IS ITS ABOUT A SIX HOUR JOB SO THE LABOR KILLS YA BUT IT IS ALOT OF WORK BUT THE GOOD PART IS THERE IS NO NEED TO REMOVE THE PUSH RODS ON A 3.8 LIKE YOU DO ON A 3.4 I CAN GIVE YOU THE STEPS IF YOU LIKE BUT THIS JOB IS BEST TO SEND TO A MECHANIC AS IT HAS A LOT OF LITTLE THINGS THAT MUST BE DONE OR YOU CAN MAKE A BIGGER MESS THEN YOU GOT ALREADY... dont take soo much in consideration after you have make all this things, some time is on only for any wire faulty, or a shrt electrical arc in any place in wire system. ask auto tap mechsnics for this maybe they have similar case before.

This is basicly a very time consuming job rather than a physically hard one to complete. In order to replace the gasket you must remove the intake plenum,throttle body, and misc. vacuum hoses. The wiring harness connections must also be disconnected. Finally the intake manifold is exposed. The bolts holding the manifold to the block are removed exposing the leaking gasket. After removing the push rods and placing them in the correct order to be replaced the gasket and sealants can be removed. Finally replace everything in reverse order. Be sure to consult a GM manual for correct bolt torch specs. The correct specs for the manifold bolts usually come with the gasket. Make sure to change your oil a few times after this job in case any coolant entered the block. Also,change the thermostat and the oil seal on the distributor half shaft cap while you have everything off. Good Luck

P1506 error refers to Idle Air Control System Overspeed Detected.
So solution is check your Air control system wires,and check air control speed once again.
