My 2000 dodge ram 1500 will not start unless you tilt the steering colunmn all the way down. If its in the up position it will not start. If you start it in the down position it ill start but turn off if you move it in the up positon. My dashboard is cracked bad and has holes in it. What could be wrong with it?

You likely have a defective ignition starter switch, this is the switch that the key cylinder moves when you try to start it.

SOURCE: tilt steering play

i have the same problem with mine several times you have to pull the steering off and the spring loaded plate behind the wheel then set back in the column there are 3 torx type fine thread screws you have to tighten and this will take care of the side to side of the tilt wheel if not tightened properly you will have to repeat this procedure again and again good luck

SOURCE: power steering drifts over uneven pavement

Lift the front of the pickup and try to shake the wheel. If it moves then a part (a bearing, a bolt or a pivot) of the front suspension is loose or worn out.
If you can't feel it moving tell to another person to move the steering wheel while you hold the wheel. If the movement isn't exact and immediate the problem is in the steering box. For this specific tools are required - it's better to take it to a repair shop, you definitely wouldn't want to gamble with your safety

SOURCE: power steering and suspension

In a lot of GM and Chevys the intermediate steering link will lose grease and cause a clunk-like feeling while turning and braking. There is a TSB for such a problem. The dealer may still warranty the repair. You can take your truck into a local shop and they'll shake down the front end for about 1/2 hour labor to see if anything is wrong. About 80% of the time a pull is caused by a lateral tire pull or even a bad tire. Check your air pressures as well.

Dodge ram headlights wont work unless dimmer switch pushed

Could be the headlight switch or the dimmer switch.
I would check for voltage at the dimmer switch first.

Blower motor for heat and ac would only come on when I messed with the tilt wheel. Now it wont work at all.

Try the ignition switch, dodge has them on backorder so there is a problem that just has not got big enough to recall. The switch is only $14.30 unless you have a V10. Mine started off as the turnsignals quit working unless you moved the tilt steering and the the heater would only work in the tilt up position.
