1997 NISSAN STAGEA engine miss when warm

Replaced plugs , (no obvious signs of deteriation) together with a visual check of the 6x coils , again no sign of discolouration or cracking ,but miss still persist after approx 10 mins driving. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. RB 25 DE engine 1997 nissan stagea

    Unable to gain access to plugs or coils without removal of phlem chamber, centre engine valley cover , etc ( well hidden), so have ordered a set of coils to try. Hopeing this will fix the problem , as miss only appears once engine warms up.

    Glen, have you had the computer scaned for any stored codes? also i think you are on the right path, replace coils as you have replaced the plugs already and i have a feeling that you may have a coil actting up, the last thing i would also do is to add seafoam to gas tank, this helps clean fuel system ,valves injectors, etc.

    Thanks for all your help . Turned out to be a intermittent coil break down , when warm.

The first step is to locate the miss. drive until it skips, then have someone hold the brake and put in drive. this is done to make skip more noticeable , next start to uplg one coil at a time or remove one sparkplug wire at a time until you locate the cylinder that the engine idle doesnt drop any, that will be the missing cylinder. next swap coil with another cylinder if they are coil packs. one for each cylinder and then start engine and recheck. if the miss moves with the coil then its a bad coil. if this uses a coil that runsa couple on cylinders then remove plug wire at the coil and see if it sparks at tower for plug wire, if theres no spark then replace coil. start with this test then we will move onto injectors if this tests good, i think you will find a bad coil as it heats up it looses power due to a bad coil . i may be wrong so thats why we will test first. another way is to go to an auto parts store and scan the computer to see what cylinder is missing and then reset codes and swap coil with another cylinder and see if the code changes then that would tell you its also a coil, good day

Taylor;

I was able to find a service manual for my 97 Infinity Q45 on Ebay. It was in the form of a DVD. A very detained replica of the papeer service manual. What's more it only cost me about $15.00 including postage. Try a general search "Automobile service manuals" and specific search like "Infinity Q45"
There are Ebay "stores" that do nothing but sell manuals, either paper or DVD.

Hope this helps Good luck Loringh PS Please leave a rating if appropriate. Thanks

3.0l engine. OK when cold. When it warms up, why does it miss and flatten out under load?

Sorry to say, If you had the work done at a shop. shops just don't give your new, remanned,or used motor or transmission the best shot at living a long or extended life. Unless new. But ts is still marginal.

I had my 2000 Concorde act up after washing the engine.
Water at the spark plugs would let it start, but when the engine got warm the water vaporized and caused the miss. Check around the plugs, wires, and coil/s for moisture.

I have a 2002 ford escape with about 170,000kms. From a cold start she runs perfect. But when i make a stop and park for a short period of time then go to leave is the prob. Starting up is no problem but...

Misfire, From a cold engine you wont have the misfire. When you engine is cold fuel is in demand and it will run great. As it warms up the fuel strategy is to lean it out (proper balance is 14.1 to 1) . At normal operating temperature the spark plug required KV is 15kv. As you accelerate the sparkplug require more voltage from its coil reserve and it delivers and at the same time the engine demads are high in order to accelerate and the spark will seek the easiest path spark plug, now when you come to a stop the demands for spark decrease and it seek the easiest path where is that at ? out through the boot of the spark plug, The vehicle is equipt with what they call COP (coil on plug) along the boot path it deteriates and so does the coil it deteriates .170,000 mile of hard working COP. they are at their worn stage you can find the weak coil with a cop tool because it misfire on acceration your looking at a boot,probable water got in there shorting it out,if it misses at idle its either water in the boot or the boot itself or the cop.

It skips alot what cause that

If by 'skip' you mean it misses, it is almost always an engine electrical problem, specifically the secondary ignition system (coils, plug wires)-do you have a check engine light? If you have coil packs (one coil feeds 4 plugs), they can and do go bad. You don't say what engine you have, but if you have plug wires and they have never been replaced, it is a good place to start-do the plugs while you are at it. If you have coil-on-plugs, you may have oil in the plug wells, a very common issue with fords and it requires removing the valve cover and installing new gaskets, and possibly replacing shorted coils. Again, the check engine light will allow you to pinpoint which plug is 'missing', so if you don't have one yet, you should soon see it. there is also the possibility that a fuel injector is not opening-
