You put the red cable from the charger to the positive ( + ) side of your battery and the black cable to the ( - ) sid of the battery. hope this helps you and good luck. remember to take the time to rate the responses you get.

I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid 2.7L and ran the coputer and gave me codes P0700,P0056,P0135,P0141,P0155,P0161, Po871. I have replaced all O2 sensors and cam shaft and the codes for the sensors still come up....

Try removing the negitive cable from the battery for 5 minutes. Hook it back up and start the car. Let it warm up and then drive it normally for 2 or 3 miles. Then recheck for the codes.

first you should remove the battery and bring it to a place to have it charged and load tested auto zone and advance auto parts do it for free, then you will know if its battery or the starter could even be the cable connections, inspect them for corrosion and looseness

Battery light

not necessary. it could also mean that your alternator is not producing enough voltage to charge it. If you take it to autozone they will test your output voltage from the alternator for free. they will be able to determine if its a bad battery or not

Battery light on 2003 intrepid came on

if the charging circuit is low, then it appears that your alternator is going bad....

Battery terminals, when car is off, should read 12V+-.2V. When the car is running, terminals should read 13V-14V=-.2V

New battery will not hold charge

Check your power distribution box under hood, usually close to battery for blown fuse, may be one for alternator circuit in there, otherwise you'll need to get a voltmeter on that battery to see if alternator is charging or not.

Lights flicker

Have any of you guys checked the battery to see if it is charged enough and holding a charge. To do this check you need to use a voltage tester and the reading should be around 12.4 volts. If not make sure the battery is full with distilled water and then charge the battery.

Next you need to immediatly check to see if the alternator is charging the system adequately. If not replace it before you kill the battery again.

Also clean the terminals on the battery and on the connectors even if they don't look like they need it.

If the battery still dies you may need to replace the battery because it lost its ability to keep an adequate charge.

2002 dodge intrepid battery

Usually from weak,(small gauge wire) cables , improper hook-up,(backwards) or not connected good. If your vehicle has something stuck on that is drawing lots of power is a possibility too. Match them up + to +, and - to -. Do negative last.
