First unplug the cooling fan at its plug and supply 12v to the fan if it doesnt run then replace if it does run follow the power wire to the thermal water switch usualy located at the bottom of the radiator.Use test light/probe to check that you have power into the switch and when engine is hot you should have power both in and out of the switch.if not replace thermal water switch. If that is working you will need to find out why you have no power to the switch.Check that your fuse and relay is working correctly.Sometimes just pulling out the relay and putting back in will make it work due to poor contact. Also try swapping relays with others in the same box near battery to identify if relay is faulty

1990 Buick LeSabre cooling fan sensor

It is located at the cover that the upper radiator hose connects to or near it in the manifold. See picture below of sensor.
The picture below is of the new style sensor, you must replace the connector, yours is the old discontinued style and will be round and you squeeze the connector it to release it. You will need a wiring connector upgrade as well to use the improved switch below..

Is there a fuse that runs the radiator fan in 1997 buick lasabre

there is a fuse aswell as a sensor switch in the radiator itself which when reaches certain temp activates fan to cool radiator, if radiator isnt getting all that hot or not at all there is a thermostat built into cooling system, generally to side above gearbox or to the front of engine, this could be stuck closed which will prevent water circulating, you can identify this part by looking for a dome shaped plastic or metal piece bolted to engine (generally two, one either side, and it will have an electrical sensor located in it or beside it, drain coolant, remove domed cover and there you will find thermostat, purchase replacement and refit making sure to clean all joining surfaces and use or apply proper gasket or liquid gasket to seal joint, filling cooling system is bit mor tricky, for this just google car make model with coolant filling procedure, dont forget to add anti freeze when refilling, this also acts as a summer coolant.

When i first start the car a message appears that says ENGINE COOLANT LOW. CHECK SOON. When you check the coolant(AFTER IT HAS COOLED) , it shows to be exactly where it is suspose to be. 1999 bUICK...

The low coolant switch may be stuck, and you may even have to replace it. Last time I replaced one it was in the radiator. Also make sure the level is good in the radiator when cool.

The engine cooling fans in our 2003 Buick LeSabre LTD don't shut off when speeds over 25 MPH are reached.

There is nothing to worry about. The cooling fans do not operate by engine speed, but rather engine temp. If the fans stopped working, then there would be a problem with either the cooling fan relays or the temp sensor which operates the fans. Otherwise, you are fine.

89 buick lesabre electric cooling fans

You are off to a good start by testing the fans. Get a repair manual from your nearest autoparts store. I find them invaluable. Most temperature sensors can be tested with an Ohm meter. Or short the two wires together to trigger fans. If it has only one wire then ground it to the frame/body (negative side of battery). If none of that works (with ignition on / car off) then relay is bad. Also turning on the A/C should make the fans come on. Car does not have to be running, key in on position. This would eliminate bad relays or not.

Radiator Fan Stays On

A simple test would involve disconnecting the fan switch while the fan is on. If the fan then stops the switch has failed. If the fan continues to run remove the relay , if the fan then stops the relay has failed.
Various inputs/outputs at the relay should be confirmed to be 100% certain something strange isn't going on.
Above all be careful of the fan itself , if it's running obviously but if it's not it could start during repair

I changed the fuel p[ump on my 1990 buick lesabre and it wont start now but the fuel is getting to the engine

Check and see if you are getting any fire. When you say that you know that you are getting gas, are you checking at the carb? If so, then it sounds like a electrical problem.
