Question about 2003 Ford F350 Super Duty DRW SuperCab
BLEW FUSE FOR CIG LIGHTER OR PHONE CHARGER PLUG. WHICH NUMBER IS IT?
Posted by Anonymous on
I looked it up online and matched the online diagram to my circuit layout now mine is a diesel but I don't think that matters. I did same thing. I plugged in to powerful a appliance to the plug an blew the fuse. On both one at a time.
I discovered it is fuse designated
F12 it is a 20 amp fuse yellow. FYI .
Also I had two boxes of fuses I had bought both are the wrong size the fuse for our truck is less than an inch wide an the staple fuses for sale everywhere are almost an inch.
They are not the correct ones! I hope this helps you. From Tanya in Ojai ca.

The owners manual states 'do not plug accessories into the cig. lighter.' They are only to be plugged into the 'power point' outlets. This is probably why the fuse blew, it can't handle accessories. You need to replace fuse #41 with a 20 amp fuse. This fuse also controls the OBDII diagnostic port, so until it's replaced, you won't be able to scan for check engine codes. If you need a replacement manual, you can download one for free at the official Ford site.

Just check the fuses one by one and replace the one is blew out with a the same value or amperes. How do you know if blew out? You will see the fuse to the sunlights or lights if open or close. Open means, the wire break or cut off inside the fuse and current can not flow. Close means, wire is not broken, and current will flow. Fuse is like a circuit breakers of the house, it will blew out if there is a short circuit, same with a cars. ok
