I am not familiar with your car however depending on the radiator cooling area fan sizing, location and number will be determined, are both fans mounted facing the radiator? if so both will be required to drop coolant temp if not where is the second fan? hope this helps you, good luck

Radiator - Removal & Installation
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
CAUTION Do not remove the radiator cap or drain with the cooling system hot and under pressure or serious personal injury can occur from hot pressurized coolant.
  2. Place a drain pan under the radiator drain. Open the radiator drain plug and allow the coolant to drain.
  3. Remove the air intake resonator from the air cleaner assembly.

Electric cooling fans will work.

The fans are actuated by coolant temp in the radiator. It is possible to have overheated coolant in the radiator, causing the steam, and your engine not overheating...the temp sensor for your engine is reflecting the engine temp, not the temp of the coolant in the radiator. You problem could be a bad temp sensor at the radiator...not allowing the fans to come on. Good Luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

The fan on my nissan quest 96 is not working, What i should do?

I assume you mean engine/radiator cooling fan. You have 3 relays in the power box under the hood by the battery. They are labeled, one low speed fan relay and 2 high speed fan relays. One of the high speed relays is a default back up relay if the others fail, it will go to high speed all the time. Maybe you have a bad cooling fan. Buy in Ebay cheap.
