thanks guys for the help, i checked all the fuses and they are good, haynes book shows all the relays but it doesnt tell you which one is for the fan. there must be at least 7 or 8 of them. one gray one right above the fan, 5 in the left rear by the fire wall, and a few others on the drivers side above the steering colum, also how would you test one if i find the right one?

You probably have a blown fuse or relay. I would suggest going under the hood (with the help of your Haynes manual) and locate the fuse and/or relay block. Also, check the the fuses under the dash, if you already haven't.
Good luck~

I would run the hot wire to a fuse inside the car that turns on when u turn the key forward..example..the wipers would be good because its a bigger fuse and draws power even when the wipers are not on..then take the ground wire and ground it to a bolt underneath the hood obviously something metal good luck!

Your next step now that the fan is not an issue is to use a test light/probe to check that you have power into the fan switch and out Sounds like no power to the switch but check first. If you have power in and none out switch is suspect.Usualy this problem is fuse or relay based so pulling out the relay and swapping it for another out of your engine bay relays can isolate wether its a relay. As far as the fuse goes im sure you have checked that and if not swap with another of the same color/amp rating. If you have no joy then look to the earth cicuit, you can put your own in spliced into the original earth wire and bolt/screw to good body earth.Good luck

Have a 1997 Buick Skylark Has tail lights but no Brake, turn or hazard lights don't hear the flashers.

Hi,
If you check the brake switch first, pull connecter off and see if you have 12 volts on one side of the plug. if you have power use a small cotter pin and jump the connector the brake light should come on with the 3rd brake light also. If that doesn't work more than likely its your turn signal switch that is the culprit.

How to replace gas tank for a 1997 buick skylark

Chilton or Haynes should direct you in this, but short of that, the tank is held in by a couple of bands. You have to disconnect the few hoses as you lower it and also the wiring for the fuel pump (which is in there). Consider this a two-man job. It isn't hard to find out what to take apart, but it is a pain in the tush.

I need a wiring diagram for a starter for a 1997 Buick Skylark 2.4L

If you want to buy a manual for your car, i would suggest a Haynes. They have excellent wiring diagrams. If you just want to get a peak at one, log on to Autozone.com and register for a free account. Once you do, you can add your vehicles to an online garage and view online manuals that include wiring diagrams.

Hope this helps,
matt

1997 buick 2.4 misfire code

Its most likely a clogged or malfunctioning fuel injector. Unplug the injector wire harness and check contacts for corrosion. If there is corrosion clean it with some electrical contact cleaner spray, apply some dielectric grease before reattaching it. If that doesn't work you can buy some fuel injector cleaner, the aerosol type that attaches to the fuel rail, not the gas additive type.

I would like to encourage you to consider buying the service manual for your car; they can answer questions such as your current one and help you decide if an estimate you have gotten appears to be fair or not.

1997 buick skylark wont start

Does it crank and not start or not even crank. You could have a bad starter. I would test the battery first. When it won't start try to jump start it. If it jump starts it's probably the battery. If it won't jump start it's probably the starter.
