SOURCE: fuse/circuit breaker for cig.lighter/radio/dash lights

The heavy duty or 'circuit breakers' should be in the engine compartment, perhaps in front of the air breather. There are one or may be 2 inside behind the front side kick panels driver and passenger side, or under the steering wheel.

SOURCE: passenger power window does not work 2002 Silverado HD Ext Cab

REMOVE THE DOOR PANEL TO GET TO THE WINDOW MOTOR. REMOVE THE CONNECTOR ON THE MOTOR. LOOP A TEST LIGHT FROM BOTH TERMINALS. WITH THE KEY ON AND BOTH SWITCHES IN PLACE, CHECK TO OPERATION OF THE SWITCHES. IF THE LIGHT COMES ON IN BOTH DIRECTION THE WINDOW MOTOR IS BAD.

THERE IS A CIRCUIT BREAKER BUILT INTO THE WINDOW MOTOR. SOMETIME HITTING THE MOTOR WITH MAKE THE CIRCUIT BREAKER RESET BUT THE MOTOR WONT LAST LONG DOING THAT.

ALSO TRY PULLING DOWN ON THE WINDOW WHILE TRYING THE SWITCHES. THE WINDOW COULD JUST BE STUCK. THIS HAPPENED TO ME.

Rear defrost stays on when car is shut off in 1996 impala ss

The rear defro does not have power going to it with the key off. This means there is somehow a short to power to this switch, if you can remove the switch check for power at the connection. If there is power there is a short, I will send you a schematic of the circuit.

to check it take a multimeter and place it on each connection of the rear defrost to make sure you don't have a break somewhere in the defroster

Power windows stopped working 2005 chevy impala

If they all just stopped at one time, it sounds like the circuit breaker is bad. That circuit breaker is located in the fuse panel inside the vehicle (below is a picture of its location). Also below is a picture of the fuse layout. The circuit breaker you may need to replace which is its only circuit that it works for (power windows & sunroof only if you have a sunroof) is the one in the diagram marked "RETAINED ACCSRY PWR BRKR". That breaker is supposed to reset itself after an overload but they do get weak after time. I would put money that is the problem. I hope this helps and good luck.

NO REAR WINDOW DEFROST

First thing to do is test these fuses with a tester light. Check the A/C cruise control fuse 10 amp (left side of dash in panel), heated mirror fuse 10 amp (right side of dash in panel), this is also where you will find the circuit breaker and relay for the rear defroster. Test the breaker for power in and out. Feel the relay to see if it clicks when you turn on the rear defrost

I think that's a 130lb bolt that's propbably going to take even more torque to loosen it. you need a breaker bar on the rright size socket to fit the nut in the middle of the crank. remove the driver tire and all the plastic trim. With the front of the car safely up on jack stands and the hand break applied you should have easy access. Air tools often work best to loosen the nut. but if you need to stop the crank turning to put some serious force on a breaker bar, have a friend put the car in 1st and hold the foot break down as you push the breaker bar towards the back of the car with your foot. you need to lay in front of the car with your legs under it to push against the breaker bar.
If that fails you can wedge the breaker bar against the frame member and do a quick blip on the ignition key to turn the crank. watch out for flying breaker bars though.
putting it back on is just as hard as you need to get up to 130lbs torque to keep in on safely..

1996 Chevy Blazer Circuit Breaker

You can use a fuse temporarily in place of the circuit breaker until you find a suitable place to purchase the circuit breaker. Advanced Auto parts has them in stock at most locations. If you don't have one of those nearby then try a Grainger catalog. Or even a Harbor Freight online. Hope this helps. Good luck

My power window in my 2002 chevy impala will not work

The RAP circuit breaker is directly behind the left side fuse panel. The chevy dealer acts like its a big secret and wants 75.00 to plug it in. You have to reach up under the dash and plug it in the BACK side of the left fuse panel. The diagram on the plastic cover is misleading. If you put the seat all the way back, you will have to lay on your back and with a flashlight you should look and you will see where it plugs in. This is on a 2002 chevy impala. Hope this helps.

Best Regards Jeff
