My "no oil pressure light" came on, car started making noice. Car has full oil. I'm not sure if the oil pump went out or if it is related to the computer chip. All of our warning lights are on as well (brake failure, ABS etc...sounds like this has been a common problem). Does anyone no how to check the oil pressure and where the oil pump is located on the 1999 s80? I'm handy with my hands and would like to take care of it myself. What the Volvo dealership charges is crazy...I end up working on the car myself anyways. I bought this car for my wife and son hoping it was reliable...we've had nothing but problems since purchasing it. Any idease would be appreicaited.
Hi if it was just an oil light that was staying on i would say just replace the oil pressure sensor ,its usually located near the oil filter.but with other lights on it sounds like a electronic problem like the computer that may need replacing.
The oil pump is located inside the oil pan..its a real big job to replace..from all of the codes that are showing up on the dash i would say it was the computer going crazy..and the oil pump is probably okay u may have to just buy a new computer
