Where is the rear camber adjustment on a 2004 saturn vue, tire shop says they can't do the alignment because the bolt is rusted. i just want to remove rust and to loosen

I have the back tire off where can I find a picture with parts list

The vibration is caused by the rotors being warped. Remove the front tires and check the front brake pads. Replace if needed. This is a pretty straight forward job. The rotors are "fall off" rotors and you won't need anything special tool wise.

Believe it or not, it is a VERY simple task. Take a flat-tipped screwdriver and tap in between the motor and oil pan. All automotive books say the SAME thing. This is regular practice and will NOT damage anything. You have to pry the pan off. If it is adhered this good....make double sure you clean both surfaces off before re-applying the new pan gasket. A scraper (has a razor blade on the end of a handle) will help the clean the block surface.

One thing to remember, once you get the gasket sealant oneither the block or the pan, let it set till it is tacky. Then, as you put the pan back up, work a cross pattern to install the bolts and only start them finger tight. Once you have all the bolts on, tighten then again in a criss cross pattern and try not to overtighten them until you have them all snugged down. Then tighten them to specs. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN!!! You gasket will start to "seep" out and then you will have to repeat the process for a leaking oil pan.

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

we have a 2003 saturn vue which we installed new tires on and we noticed a noise about 6 months afterwards. it sounded to my wife and i to be loud road noise from the tires. the car was driven for 6 months and we decided the noise was annoing. had the tires checked only to find it was the left front wheel bearing which was replaced and stopped the noise.

08 honda pilot-cupping tire wear on rear drivers side. told camber off 1 degree. told cant be adjusted-- do i need to replace the rear arm (looks like tie rod) with an adjustable arm (Expensive) or a bolt...


what you need is an alignment. to have an alignment done, no parts need to be replaced. the car is put on a machine which measures 3 things on the wheels. then after the measurments are in, the suspension is adjusted, which makes your tire wear even. but like i said, no place needs to be replaced for an alignment. unless the part is visually damaged or making unusual noises it shouldnt need to be replaced. also, regular mechanics usually dont have the equipment to measure if your alignment is off or not. which means you have to take it to an alignment specialist, and they should give you a price of how much it should cost. usually is around 100 dollars for one pair of wheels(front or back) and should be under 200 for both front and back. hope this helps, goodluck.

Before making wheel alignment adjustment, perform the following checks:
  1. Tires should be equal in size and runout must not be excessive. Tires and wheels should be in balance, and inflated to manufacturer's specifications.

  2. Wheel bearings must be properly adjusted. Steering linkage and suspension must not have excessive looseness. Check for wear in tie rod ends and ball joints.
  3. Steering gear box must not have excessive play. Check and adjust to manufacturer's specifications.
  4. Vehicle must be at curb height with full fuel load and spare tire in vehicle. No extra load should be on vehicle.
  5. Vehicle must be level with floor and with suspension settled. Jounce front and rear of vehicle several times and allow it to settle to normal curb height.
  6. If steering wheel is not centered with front wheels in straight-ahead position, correct by shortening one tie rod adjusting sleeve and lengthening opposite sleeve equal amounts.
  7. Ensure wheel lug nuts are tightened to torque specifications
Ride Height Adjustment

Before adjusting alignment, check riding height. Riding height must be checked with vehicle on level floor and tires properly inflated. Passenger and luggage compartments must be unloaded. Bounce vehicle several times, and allow suspension to settle. Visually inspect vehicle from front to rear and from side to side for signs of abnormal height.
Measure riding height. See figure. Riding height between left and right sides of vehicle should vary less than 1′ (25.4 mm). If riding height is not within specification, check suspension components and repair or replace them as necessary.
Wheel Alignment Procedures

Honda recommends using commercially available computerized 4-wheel alignment equipment. Follow equipment manufacturer instructions to obtain vehicle alignment settings. Use following procedures for necessary adjustments.
Civic Camber Adjustment
Compare camber settings with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. If camber is incorrect, check for bent or damaged front suspension components. Replace faulty components. Recheck camber.
Civic Caster Adjustment
DO NOT use more than 2 shims. If more than 2 shims are required to adjust caster angle, check for bent or damaged suspension components.
Compare caster settings with vehicle manufacturer recommendations. If caster is incorrect, check for bent or damaged front suspension components. Replace faulty components. Recheck caster.
Civic Toe-In Adjustment

  1. Secure steering wheel in straight-ahead position. Measure front wheel toe-in. If adjustment is needed, loosen tie rod lock nuts. Turn both tie rods equally in the same direction until front wheels are in straight-ahead position and toe-in reading is correct. Tighten tie rod lock nuts. Reposition tie rod boots if twisted.
  2. Ensure parking brake is released. Check rear wheel toe-in. If adjustment is needed, hold adjusting bolt on rear compensator arm and loosen lock nut. See figure. Adjust rear toe-in by sliding rear control arm until rear toe-in is correct. Install NEW lock nut, and tighten it while holding adjusting bolt.

    • Rear: 0.33 (range -1.33 to 0.67)
  • Caster - Measurement in degrees.
    • 1.17 (range 0.17 to 2.17)

    • Front: -0 (0)
    • Rear: 0.08 (2.0)
  • Toe-In - Measurement in degrees.
    • Front: 0.00 (range - 0.16 to 0.16)
  • Toe-Out On Turns - Measurement in degrees.
    • Inner: 41.00
    • Outer: 33.50

How do you adjust the rear camber on a Mitsubishi


have you lowered the car? There are bolts that you can get which allow you to adjust your camber. They are called cam bolts, I found some at my local napa store. I would really recommend taking the car to a tire shop or a shop with an alignment rack. If you try to eyeball it, chances are that you will have weird handling, and possibly accelerated tire wear. I fixed my negative camber issues on my 91 eclipse gs-t at my local community college while I was taking the suspension class. I have since steppe up to an evo8. Mitsubishi's are my favorite!

Can you give me the rear wheel camber spec for a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix, GT? I am replacing the springs and would like to check & adjust (if necessary) the camber when done.


the only way you can adjust camber is special bolts. you will need a 4 wheel alignment anyhow when you are done and the alignment shop will adjust it, if needed.

Rear Driver side tire angled out


Front wheel drive autos require a FOUR wheel alignment. If an alignment is not done, cupping of the rear tires will result.

Negative rear right camber


If you bought this vehicle second hand then you need to get your vehicle checked for crash damage. Your insurer can do a check on a vehicle register for a small cost, but that is only if the vehicle was damaged AND repaired/written off via an insurer. this does not guarantee that the vehicle has never been in an accident, you need to look underneath to see if there are any kinks, tears or ripples that don't look quite right. But I would advise taking to a professional repair shop for a good look over.
If the bolt has been replaced, and the readings are correct, then you should be safe enough, just drive steady. But if you are suspect of this vehicle get it checked .

It is possible for the chassis to sag, but this is far more common with much larger, heavier vehicles. Likely, you have something in the suspension that is bent or mount bushings that are worn oblong where the center bolt passes through. A good shop can find this after a careful examination. subtle bends are difficult to detect...parts have factory bends in them and unless removed and matched up side by side with a known good part, you would never see the difference. Bending does not always involve an accident. A sideways slide into a curb in snow or even a decent pothole at the right angle can cause a bend. Likely it is not unsafe but it will wear your tires.

Rear tires worn completely from inside to past center, 7300 miles


Does the car have altered suspension? If so, you should be able to notice, but if you go to a mechanic, they can align the vehicle, and adjust the toe in, and camber to erect the tires again. Hope all goes well, good luck. Shouldn't be more than $60 to $90.
