Question about 2002 Pontiac Sunfire

Sunfire 2002 won't start after parked for one month

I have a Pontiac Sunfire 2002 with 92,000 miles that was running very well, then I parked it for a month, but now won't start. I recharged the battery, but the car won't start. Seems like gas is not coming to the injectors. I have done the following:
1) Used starting fluid, which starts the vehicle, but won't continue after fluid effect ends, as long as there is fluid the engine works. Seems like the there is not gas coming to the engine. I run the engine with the starter fluid for 10 minutes, until i finished the whole can of starting fluid.
2) I checked the relay and fuse for the pump, and both are ok, the relay is the same as the A/C, so I switch them to verify they were ok, not a problem with the A/C.
3) Prior to parking the car, the car was working very well never had a problem with it at all.
What else can be? you may contact me at rcampos@knology.net

I wouldn't recommend useing the starting fluid method anymore..it actually is very bad for the engine the ether wipes the oil off of the cylinder walls and that could cause big problems..other than that i would say its the fuel pump whe u turn the key forward..not to start the car just to turn the key so the radio plays..listen for a quick buzzing sound coming from the back of the car twards the gastank..if u do not hear it its probably the fuel pump good luck

fuel pumps tend to just die out with absolutely no warning at all its not necessarily bad that you parked it but u should start a car in storage about 1 time a week if possible (if not then theres products like Stabil)..if the fuel pump turns out to be good you might just have stale gas in this case you would need to drain all of the fuel in the gas tank and then add fresh fuel..

Why does my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire shake while in park?

My guess would be that you have either a bad plug, wire, or cylinder. If its running okay once you accelerate a bit, my guess would be that it is most likely the plug or wire. If one cylinder isn't doing its job, you only have 3/4's of your regular performance. Best of luck. Hope this helps.

2002 sunfire key stuck in the ignition (run) position, won't turn off, no gages working, and will not shift out of park. now the service and theft system lights are on

Sounds as if the ignition cylinder is bad. You will have to replace it if the key is stuck. It is a lot easier to replace with the key in the on position as that will be required to remove the cylinder. If you get the key out and then the cylinder will not turn, replacement of the cylinder will be more complicated

My 2002 sunfire is stuck in park. Also the key is getting stuck in the ignition. Appreciate any advice.

rock steering wheel back and forth, while turning the key, rock vehicle back and forth to take pressure off transmission shifter. are you parked on any kind of up or down hill grade? if so, that's the problem. start using emergency brake before putting in park.

2000 pontiac sunfire 5 speed manual transmission with 40,000 miles on the clutch started slipping what's going on with it

a clutch can wear out in a couple hundred miles if not driven properly or abused-at 40,000 miles it is highly possible that the clutch disk is worn to the point that it needs to be replaced. You might be able to get away with driving it but avoid driving it is such a way that it slips-if you can hear the engine running 'ahead' of the car (revving faster than you are moving) get off the gas-especially in higher gears. If you do this until you can get the clutch replaced, you should be able to nurse it along for months.

2002 Pontiac Sunfire shuts off by its self. Has only done it a couple times. Starts right back up and works fine. Any ideas?

Replace the fuel filter as soon as you can. This is the early signs of a dirty fuel filter and when it get's to the end of it's life, you'll not be able to restart the car. The fuel filter should be replaced every 15,000 miles or once a year to ensure the fuel system is running 100% and will add life to your fuel pump. Good luck and keep me posted.
