Question about 1995 Buick LeSabre

1 Answer

Anti-theft factory and car wont start or has any power.

I pulled up at my daughters and when I got in the car to leave it wouldn't make a sound. We tried to jump the car it did nothing. I had a lock smith come and try to make a new key with a new chip but he said it did not work. but my battery was all the way dead when he tried. I went and had my battery charged to a full charge. But still no sound when I try to start it. So I guess I will try to go have the chip put on the new key he left me with the number of the chip I need since I had the battery charged up. In my owners manual it says that you don't have to do anything to set off the system. It shuts down the fire to the starter and the fuel system and you have to try another key. If that doesn't work then I will have to have a diagnostic put on it. but I can't afford a towing bill. Should I try a net key now? Or could it be one of the black things under the hood under the maxi-fuses. Or an ignition module? Please help! Thank You, Carol

Could it be in the ignition switch? When the locksmith came out to make me a new computer chip key and tried the new key it wouldn't make any sound either but my battery was dead. Would that have made a difference? I cant afford to have a wrecker come and tow my car to the shop. I don't know what to do. My son thinks it is in the electrical problem. They cross shorted the starter to see if it would start but it would not stay running. So the Pass KeyII shut down the power to the starter and the fuel system when it thinks someone is trying to steal the car. help!!!!

It is a 95 Buick LaSabre Limited 3800 Multi-port tuned . I went and had a new NAPS key made for it. I had it towed to my garage. I sure do hope it is the key.

well i think ur on the right track i mena u seem to have alot of ideas on whats goin on..the black boxes under the hood are relays they usually never go bad but its possible i would find out if u have one for ignition or liek starter or something that u would need to start up the car and just replace it theres no real way to test them..i think it would be a good dont want to go replacing the ignition when it could be something as small as that..whats the make model and year of the car? also the engine size? maybe its a common problem on them..get back to me i will do a search on it.

Car wont start after pulling out the spark plug leads and then attempting to start as an anti theft procedure. could be a electronic distributor malfunction?

You pulled the wires to test anti theft. Or pulled them to see if there was spark because of anti theft? Year make and model helps. Older cars did kill the spark. Newer ones on kill the fuel.

Cold morning car wont start

If the anti-theft light is flashing, turn the key to the On position and leave it there until the light stops flashing. Turn the key off, then try to start the car. The Anti-Theft system can get tripped for no reason and cause this exact problem.

Anti-theft system

Read your manual or take it to the dealer. It sounds like it needs reset.....if this is a factory anti theft system, only the installer may be able to help you.

Car won't start - anti-theft light flashing

it sounds like the immobilizer is faulty. this will shut off the electrical feed to the starter motor. you will need to take it to a garage to get this fixed.

hope this helps.
