I would guess that you have a stretched or loose serpentine belt. Common problem.

SOURCE: 2001 toyota sienna wont start and makes clicking

This seems like a battery problem. Have your battery checked for voltage capacity and serviceability. It may need charging or replacing.

SOURCE: Lights come on but it won't start, just makes clicking noise

Get your battery checked for charge level. If it is under 10 volts the vehicle won't start properly. It may be a problem with the ignition relays. I have been told those can be a problem with this type of vehicle. Of course, it could be something simple like corrosion on the battery terminals or a bad starter solenoid.

SOURCE: steering is loose and makes noise

There are many different parts that can go bad to cause tire wear. I would take the car into a local shop to get the alignment checked. When a mechanic checks the alignment he MUST check for worn or loose parts on the front end. If there are any, he cannot adjust the alignment until they are replaced. Most likely inner or outer tie rod ends have play. Could be struts/sway bar links/ or hub bearings as well.

My 1996 Toyota Vienta won't turnover with the key in ignition. Plenty of electrical power, air con runs as does the lights. Fitted with an immobilizer, wondered if that might have something to do

Check wiring to your starter make sure all the wires are secure. Its mainly sounds like you need a new starter. If you hear it clicking it is likely engaging just not spinning

My 2005 nissan altima won't crank or turnover. It justs makes this clicking noise. Can you help me?

The click is most likely the starter solenoid you hear

Should be a familiar sound you've heard may times
on other cars

I would guess you know how old the battery is?

If it is original,it is 8 years old & dead,if so, replace it

If it is only 3 years old ,check the voltage with a meter

Next the solenoid could be working as you hear it,but
it's contacts are burnt,it can be replaced

You remove the starter & change the solenoid

Don't want to do that, buy the entire starter at auto parts,
not a dealer, cost too much to even be there for any reason.

1995 toyota celica starts up when cold and will run until i get wherever i need to go. Then if i shut off and try to restart it doesnt make any clicking noise and wont try to turnover until cold.

So when your engine is hot the starter won't engage. Try cleaning and tightening the wires that are bolted to your starter first. You want bare shiny metal to metal at all your connections. Take care when unbolting the wires because you could strip or break the studs on the solenoid. If this doesn't help then I would say the solenoid is going bad and will need to be replaced. It's usually a good idea to replace the starter and solenoid as one unit. Hope this helps.

I changed the battery in my 2001 Toyota Sienna and now my radio won't work.

Press station 1 and 6 and turn the ignition key to on position but donot start the vehicle, you will see the unlock code flashing, note the number that is your radio code, read your vehicle manual and insert code to unlock.

Toyota 2000 Sienna LE. Problem - Engine won't stop even turned the key off and pulled it out. A high frequency noise under hood and last about 20 seconds and the engine turn it self off. Only happened...

I had a similar problem with a Previa. It occurred when starting the engine. Turns out the starter would not disengage from the fly wheel. I believe that the starter was the source of the high frequency noise. Had to disconnect the battery cable to stop the starter. Replaced the starter and everything was fine.
Good luck.
