Question about 1996 GMC Sonoma
I have a 1996 GMC Sanoma with a 4 cyl eng.
I have been smelling antifreeze and have noticed that the 3rd spark plug back has antifreeze around it. There is no antifreeze in the oil and none leeking on the ground.
Is there a cheep place to purchase a new head if this is the problem, and is there any free online spec manuals.
i would appreciate any help.
On the side of te head above the # 3 spark plug check to see if ou have a frost lug there in the head, Also check if there are any heater hoses in this area to be sure that they are not spraying antifreeze from a pin hole. Before you go and buy a new or used head be sure that the head is the actual problem, it could be as simple as a head gasket. Also check to see if you have white smoke coming out of your exhaust as this is a tell tail sign of a head gasket.
