SOURCE: Radiator fan will not run but motor is good

On the drivers side in front of the battery there's a black box i think it says fuse turn counter clockwise the black star looking thing on top of the box when it is loose remove cover there should be two relays one is for the fan and other for ac the inside of cover should identify everything fuses etc. You could try turning on AC that should turn on radiator fan.

SOURCE: radiator cooling fan 30 amp. fuse keep blowing

The fan may run with jumper wires but if it''s blowing the 30 Amp Maxifuse it's needs a new or used fan motor. It's pulling too many amps.I have almost never seen a fan relay concern.Only other thing you may check is the wiring down near the fan shoud I have seen the 2 wires get loose from the conduit & melt onto exhaust manifold.Hope tHis Helps

I have a 2000 sw saturn, thefan dose not run, I jumped the fam and the moter is good. fuse is good fan just womt run

screwed into the base of the engine's head on the driver side is a temp sensor, this is a 10 dollar part and could be bad. when you take the old one out antifreeze will ooze out so have your new one ready to go to avoid much loss. behind the driver side head light is a box that says "fuse and relay". if you take the top off that box you will see a legend on the bottom of the lid. one of the relays is for the fan, another for the A/C. they are the same part and you can switch them, if the fan then works then go buy another relay, again about a 10 dollar part. bear in mind that if the A/C is on the fan always runs

My 93 Saturn SW2 begins to overheat when idling after driving. I can cool the engine by turning on the AC. Is this a thermostat problem? Or what else may be wrong?

Sounds like a relay or fuse problem, at worst it's your fan #1 has gone bad and needs to be replaced. Before replacing anything, check all your fuses, relay, wire leads and harness at the fan.
Good luck and thank you for using Fixya.

The cooling fan relay should be in the under hood fuse block.Remove the cover and on the back of the cover there should be a label that shows the fuses and relays and what system they protect.Just remove the one that is for the cooing fan and install the new one.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Heat/air blower faded in and out...sort of like ooooooooooh-saaaaaaah. Then nada, zip, nuttin. Fuse and relay both ok. Something to check on motor for easy fix or total replacement? 97 Sataurn SW2

If the blower motor relay, fuse, and switch have voltage to them, check to see if there is voltage at the blower motor itself with the fan switch on. If not, trace back to switch for fault. If there is voltage at the motor, replace the blower motor/fan assembly.
