SOURCE: I can nit open my trunk on my 1996 jAGUAR XJ6.

ok, if the key won't open this then the lock is jammed and if you don't want to damage anything, I know I wouldn't, I would take it to a mechanic. The jammed may have been what killed your battery if the valet trunk open was not working it may have been shorted out. There is a way to jump vehicles with the battery in the trunk like that but I am not familiar with it and if the buttin doesn't work to release the trunk it would do you no good anyway. most likely you are looking at replacing teh truck locking mechanism.

SOURCE: 2001 Jaguar S type: Interior lights stay on,

It will not be a fuse that keeps the interior light on. It will be a switch for one of the doors or the bonnet. Check each door switch by removing them one by one and disconnect the wire, until you see which switch is faulty. It maybe the contacts are not releasing or one of the switch wires is touching an earth point . Hope this helps

My parking lights,or panel lights dont turn on and my fuse box is # so i dont know what fuse to change i am stranded cant drive

All the marker lights and the dash board and the door switches and even the tag light and the light in the ash tray all light because of this one fuse. Under the steering collum the cover removes with a penny or a quarter and even your bear fingers a quarter unturn. Your problem another fuse correctly installed won't find the short and the new fuse will blow to. If yu use other fuses in the box to replace the lighting fuse the item that does'nt work might cause even more problems. The owners manual for that car is the only good key cause thier wired diffeernly for the different countries that their sold in. I mke a loop of wire and touch the place the fuse goes with the lights turned on if it draws a big spark just strickit and have someone watch to see what lights try to light the ones that don't seem to light remove them and try again, till you unplug or remove the shorted item. Once the problem doesn't draw a spark you can put in a fuse and drive away with some of the lights not working and fix them later. Trailor connectors are good sources of shorts that kill the lights so I check them first.

Fuse to tail lights keeps blowing as soon as I turn lights on can't find problem can you offer any assistance on this ? It's a 96 hilux

you need to remove all tail lights and front marker (not turn signal) lights. with all lights out of the system the fuse should not blow. If it does you have a short to ground in the light circut. If this is the problem a good multi meter would show which line is shorted to ground by checking for continuity between the center (power) terminal of each light and the ground. If this has a positive continuity test with all lamps removed and power off then that is the wire that has shorted out. If the fuse does not blow with all lamps removed then re insert them one at a time turn on the lights and see if the fuse blows. If one lamp blows the fuse then most likely there is a problem with the socket that holds that light

My car horn is stuck on (very loud) and I removed the fuse for the horn, but now my radio or interior lights dont work. What do i do?

Hello,

was the radio and interior light working before you removed the fuse for the horn? In the process of removing the fuse for the horn, you must have mistakenly tempered with the fuse for the radio and interior light.

So I would suggest you go back to the fuse box and deep them in properly because the interior and radio fuse might not be contacting properly.

I hope this makes sense to you.

Good luck.

Something is zapping the battery in 1990 Ford Taurus

You have an electrical drain in the vehicle somewhere. The first place I would check is the dome lights, if they are off you will need to start eliminating each individual circuit. To do this you will need to get a 12 volt test light. remove the positive battery cable and connect this test light (one end to the cable and the other to the battery the test light will light up at this point) this is completing the battery circuit, next go to the fuse panel and have someone watch the test light, the first fuse you will need to remove is the dome light fuse. If you remove this fuse and the light goes out then you have a constant drain in the dome light circuit which could be a blown bulb or bad door switch. If the light stays on then leave this fuse out (due to the doors being open)and continue 1 by 1 removing fuses until the test light goes out, keep in mind if the light doesn't go out go ahead and reinsert the fuse to eliminate any confusion on where they go. Once you find the circuit that has the problem then we can diagnose what part may have failed to find your drain but more than likely it will go out with the dome light fuse removed. The door switches on these cars had some issues.

2004 PT Cruiser dome light doesn't work

If there is a switch on the dome light, that may be your problem. You would need to remove the assembly and check for voltage coming into the switch using a voltmeter with the door open.

Blower motor does not work any speed and more

If you know the fan works with direct battery voltage and you have no voltage at the fuse block then you have a problem at the fuse block. You need to remove it and check for corrosion or a short. This could also have something to do with your radio and buzzer. Pull the fuse for the radio and remove the buzzer and then check to see if your test lamp lights across the 25 amp fuse opening for the blower.
Also with fuse in place check for voltage at the yellow/brown wire going into the blower motor switch. Just cover all your bases before going at removing the fuse block.
