I believe they extended it to 10 years or 120k miles. It wouldn't hurt to call your local dealer to confirm this. Let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to answer them. Thank you for using!

SOURCE: 2000 chevy impala, air conditioning does not work

It sounds like the blower resistor needs to be replaced and the blower motor it self. Auto Zone will have the blower and resistor that you need to replace and will have the step by step instructions for you to get the job done with common tools and will take about 2 hours if your good with tools. Good luck and keep me posted. Setting 5 should have 12 volts running to the blower motor so check the wire harness for voltage readings at the blower motor harness clip, you may only just need a new blower motor.

I have a 2000 Chevy impala with 131,500 miles on it. For some reason it's using more gas then normal. I had a new fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator put on it and still same thing. Can't see...

catalytic converter, egr valve, oxygen sensors. If you have that many miles on it, try loosening the exhaust before the cat converter and try driving it. If your power has come back, then it has failed internally.

I have a 2003 chevy impala and i had the converter changed in Jan. 2011, well my husband took it to the shop where they changed it, and they told him the converter needed to be changed again. Do to it...

There is no way a catalytic converter can be clogged or damaged in four months unless you have an engine that is burning tons of oil or that has a bad head gasket or the like that allows coolant to get into the exhaust.

2002 chevy impala has loss of power. will not go

I would look into the catalytic converter too. I just went through this same symptoms. The engine will sputter and run rough. Drive a few miles at night and see if the front exhaust pipe, right behind the radiator, is glowing. That keyed me in. There is a special service to fix certain models for 01 and 02 which is sort of a recall but not exactly. The dealer just fixed it for free. The chevy customer service number is 1-800-630-2438, they can check and see if you Vin number is on the recall. Your local dealer may not know about it so call the number first and make sure you have the Vin, at least the last 8 of it, when you call.

2003 chevy impala starts cold and runs well but then it wont hold the speed it looses speed and won't accelerate over 23000 rpms

This can be your catalytic converter. If engine has no power, and won't go very fast, and you have your foot to the floor, this is the likely cause. The car may be covered by a Chevy extended warranty for this known defect. The warranty is 10 years 100K miles on that particular part for that failure. Take it to a dealer and they should fix it for free.

We have a 2001 Chevy Impala as well.  About 3 months ago, we encountered the same symptoms.  The catalytic converter was bad and had to be changed out.  The cost, for a universal catalytic converter, was about $300 but this fixed the problem.  I hope this helps.

How many miles on it? I know Impalas had a problem with the catalytic converters getting clogged. A clogged cat will give the same symptoms. No or little acceleration.
