Electrical why would all of my electrical go out when I was driving including wipers, radio, gas gauge and brake lights. Car has a new alternator but the belts would squeal. Could this have something to do with it. Where would I find a diagram of the fuse box

I have a 1995 poniac bonneville and every time i press the brakes the gauges drop. Battery is good. Alternator good. Lights dim and some time kills my car

the brake lights will not kill a car or dim lights so there is a massive short in the system or the battery is not as good as stated
check for battery terminals ( posts and terminals) are shiny clean and tight including the ground wire for the battery
have the battery load tested ( not voltage tested )
check the alternator output ( auto electrician ) check the drive belt is in good condition and tight

My battery light stays on. The windscreen wipers, indicators and brake lights don't work but car runs fine. The alternator and battery comes up pretty much new on the volt metre and my fan belt has...

The problem with your wipers and brake lights sounds like blown fuses, the battery light indicates low or no charge and will need to be tested for output and that should be 14 volts, if the alternator output voltage is correct there may be a diode s in the alternator that needs to be replaced or replace with a rebuilt alternator.

The easiest and simple should be fixed first . Turn off everything in your vehicle, radio, ac. lights, windshield wipers etc. Put the car in park , turn off the key. Disconnect the battery, wait 5 minutes. Without turning anything on in the car reconnect the battery, leave the car in park and start the car. Allow the car to sit and idle for 10 minutes. This allows the cars computer to reset all gauges and sensors uninterupted. If everything remains off including interior lights etc. the computer will not miss any steps in resetting. This step will also reset your cars idle.

Dashboard lights and gauges go out, windows won't work

Your alternator is out. Those are classic symptoms of alternating going out. The alternator recharges your electrical system and when it goes out a list of strange things go on inside the dash, and you won't be able to go very far on just a battery. I'm glad you at least made it home. But yes you will need a new alternator for sure. Please rate this response so I can get my ratings back up to 90% at least.

All the lights, radio, and other electrical feautres in my car work before starting it but after starting all of them flicker car goes in and out and engine has a high screeching sound this just happened...

Yeah could be a slipping alternator belt by the sound of it. The lights might just be on, because the car hasn't had a chance to idle properly to run diagnostics. Check and/or have the belt replaced.

Check guages light comes on after short drive while engine is running, and the car died while driving on I-95 the lights started flickering getting dimmer. the radio would turn off when anything else...

It sounds like the Alternator is actually bad.
One great way to determine this:
Recharge the new battery with a trickle charge overnight. Make sure use remove the wires going to the Battery before recharging.
Replace the Battery Wires.
Get the Vehicle Started.
When it has Started: Leave it Running and Disconnect and Remove the Negative side of the Battery. If the Vehicle dies, it is the Alternator that is bad, and needs to be replaced..
The Battery starts that vehicle, and provides nominal power to certain accessories. The Alternator actual Runs the Engine and Recharges the Battery with a low trickled charge.

Driving along in my '88 Volvo 740 - all warning lights go on!

My first thoughts are with the battery cables, or the alternator. You probably had the heater, wiper and maybe the lights on? That's a big load on the electrical system. Have the battery and charging system checked out! It's common on this model for the alternator brushes to wear out and the good thing is that they can be replaced separately of the alternator.
