It will clear any trouble codes and in turn set the check engine light back on if any problems do exist. I recommend resetting always to tell if there is a fix needed. Its kinda like double checking the system.

How do I reset acura a146 code?

You need an obd2 reader to reset the codes. But if you reset the codes without making the repairs the codes return after you drive 10 miles or so.

Check engine lite stays on. mechanic said it gave a code that my cruse control was defective. i want to reset the code how do i do it?

You need an OBII scanner. (same tool mech. used to read your codes) BUT... you can stop by any good parts store (autozone, advance, etc...) and they can reset it for you FREE. Keep in mind, if problem exists, light will come back on.

96 volvo 850 cd player code needed

Hi,

You will need to get the papers that came with your car, search all the documents that came with the car, the code to reset your car radio is written on one of the documents that came with your car. If you cannot get it, you will need to get the serial number on your radio and contact the dealer for the reset code, because, the dealers have the reset code, but you will need to tender prove of ownership before this can be done. You can also try 4877 as the code to unlock your radio.

The reset code varies per radio. The car came with its radio reset code. If you don't have it your dealer should be able to help.

Check engine light is on and I need to reset the computer. How do I reset it?

Sadly, you cannot reset the car's computer by yourself unless you have a certain hand-held computer. Fortunately, every auto parts store has one and will clear the codes for you for free. They will plug it into your OBD input and configure some settings, restarting your car's computer, clearing the codes.
