Question about 1988 Ford Ranger
Ignitor on a ford ranger 1988 does not exsit.if you are having spark problems you may be talking about the ignition module, i will encolse a picture and also tell you where to locate it. there are many auto part stores that can test your to make sure its bad. good day.there are a few engines that come in this truck, if you have a 2.0 engine then the module is located on the left fender apron. if the truck has a 2.3 or 2.9 engine then the module is located on the base of the distributor.

are they the same size and family engine?3.0L "U" engine,(*8th vin digit) then yes...... if not.......... yes, after much money and labor spent. ecm, wiring harness ect. unless you are just replacing the basic engine and transferring all of your old parts to the newer engine.
