H Rob, If the engines are the same type and the mounting align you can. Make sure that the electrical connections fit and then go ahead. When fitted take special note of the belt alignment, making sure it is in line with the other pulleys. Once confirmed you're A for away. Regards John

SOURCE: need 2004 cavalier 2.2L no AC alternaot belt

there are many differnt combinations depending the options mounted on this engine. I would find one of the same at a used car lot and take a real good look at one so you will see which way it is mounted. There should be a label stuck somewhere under the hood for the belt routing from the factory too

check you spark plug wires with a screw driver inserted in the end and have some one turn it over to see if you getting spark if thats good check your fuel pump

2003 Chevy Cavalier not starting


When you turn the key, you should hear the fuel pump make a whiring noise as it dispenses the fuel. If there is no noise. the fuel pump is not working.

Have you checked the fuel shutoff inertia switch.?
Check your owners manual for location.
