SOURCE: 92 isuzu rodeo overheating still

u says that u didn't replace the thermostat yet
Your thermostat is sticking. DO NOT DRIVE if the car overheats, you can do some serious engine damage, if you haven't done so already. Get the thermostat changed out immediately.

What happened is your thermostat is sticking. It was stuck and you saw it overheat (and should have stopped immediately). The added pressure from having a stuck thermostat pushes the fluild into the overflow.

The temperature may have gone back to normal if the thermostat "finally" opened. However, since the thermostat is sticking, it is unreliable and I would get it replaced.

Driving when the engine overheats can easily cause gaskets, such as the head gasket to fail and heads to warp. If this has occurred, you're looking at a new engine.

My 98' Isuzu rodeo Has just blown Head Gasket how do I repair this? following an over heat the radiator had begun to warp and oxidize around upper hose ,from runnig water-only through system just before...

If you are not very mechanically inclined leave this to a shop, head gaskets can be very complicated for some. the block can be flushed once the head is removed or even before. the fan is actuated by a sensor (usually on the radiator). Replace it since the motor got that hot. Sorry to say you may have warped the head or even cracked it if the heat was that high. You need to invest in a mechanics manual for your vehicle and read all that pertains to cylinder head R & R before you attempt any of this yourself

Transmission fluids

If you have the 4 speed 4L30-E..........9.2 quarts (automatic)

And, if you have a manual:

Manual Transmission, W/ BW 5-SPD..........4.4 pints
Manual Transmission, W/O BW 5-SPD..........6.3 pints

Type of fluid is dextron or mercon III, you have to pump it in from the bottom.

Please don't forget to rate!!!!
