Blazer sputters sometimes and occasionally dies. RPMs surge on idle. Tried replacing EGR valve, the vacuum lines going to it, changed out the throttle body, fuel injectors, throttle body sensor, complete tune up, fuel pump, fuel filter etc computer chip system in glove box etc. Out of ideas. Please Help!
Your blazer has central fuel injection (CFI). You said you changed injectors, but your injector in inside the intake manifold, and only has one injector and a "spider" of nylon tubes from the central injector to each intake port. It is common for these spiders to break, causing fuel to leak into the inside of the manifold, and cause problems like you described. The spiders are available as reconditioned and are quite expensive,

check to make sure the short high pressure line between the pump and outgoing fuel supply line doesn't have any cracks (the small line inside the tank) -- I had same symptoms only to find pump could not hold pressure because of the bad line ( make sure you replace with high pressure line) best of luck!

Gear ratio allows you to choose from a wide range of vehicle speed, the lower the gear ratio, the more power for your vehicle to climb but will compromise your speed while high final ratio gives you more speed, but compromises your ability to climb.
I suggest you look for the same gear ratio so as not to complicate things,
On Do it your self test would be to count the number of turns on the input shaft of your transmission as against the output shaft by manually rotating the shaft by hand and place a mark where you started and count the number of turns made by the output shaft by rotating one full turn the input shaft, this on drive positon.
DO it on both transmission to compare.

Check PCV valve and be sure it is not stuck open. Check for vacuum leak at intake manifold.
